General overviews
Lots of space

  • Friendly and family-run rural site 10 minutes' drive from Helston
  • A natural wildlife habitat with plenty of space to play
  • Pub within walking distance; two miles from Praa Sands beach
Ah, that old Cornish dilemma: coast or country? If you conclude that a bit of both would be quite tremendous, take a look at Tremorvu Campsite and Glamping, a friendly, family-run place that’s got both distant sea views and eight acres of rural space to play with. The peaceful fields here are bordered by hedges that encourage the local wildlife to hang around; pop your head over the top and you’ll be looking north towards Tregonning Hill or south to see the sea at Praa Sands (two miles away). Grab a glass, put your feet up and face west at a suitable hour and you may well be in for a spectacular sunset to finish the day. Within those hedges are plenty of space to strike up a barbie or campfire while the nippers run about. In peak season, a small shop opens up to sell local eggs, milk, bread, bacon and other essentials, plus the occasional homemade cake. Other supplies can be picked up at the supermarkets in Helston (10 minutes’ drive), and there’s an excellent pub 15 minutes’ walk away if you’d like a little stroll before your drinks and dins. Working up an appetite for meals shouldn’t be too hard… there are walks, bike rides, surfing, watersports and beach days all within a few miles, and you’re also in a strategic position for days out at St Michael's Mount, St Ives and heaps more Cornish faves.

What customers say

This well-kept, peaceful campsite offers spacious, private spots. Guests love the friendly owners, clean restrooms, and prime Cornwall location. Glamping pods and shepherd's huts are comfy and well-equipped. On-site coffee, pastries, and pizzas are hits. WiFi is usually good, though spotty at times. Some note small toilet stalls and occasional road noise.

Liked We were given a warm welcome at the well-maintained campsite and were shown round. We were then allowed to choose a pitch for ourselves and had a quiet and relaxing night. The toilets and showers were fine.

Liked Very peaceful, toilets were clean, and really enjoyed the onsite food! Also very close to the coast which has an amazing bar and restaurant overlooking the beach. Also central to all the areas of south cornwall. Very good if you’re here for a visit.

Disliked Could’ve had a kettle and iron.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Fab stay here for the last week! Great spacious, flat pitches and not crammed in. owners were lovely, coffee and breakfast in the mornings convinient for when you just want to get on your way exploring and pizzas nice at the weekend too!

Nice quiet location away from all the noise but central/close enough to anywhere you want to go like lands end, lizard point, praa sands, st ives etc! Fires and BBQS allowed which is always nice whilst camping with fire extinguishers on site. On site shop looked like it had a nice selection of items allthough we didn't end up using it.

Toilets well maintained, cleaned and always fully stocked with toilet roll, soap and hand towels. Showers clean and big enough to not make everything you own wet!

Local pub is a 15 minute walk away!

Free WiFi was super helpful for when you don't have phone signal.

Honestly nothing to dislike about this camp site, we stayed in a large EHU tent pitch. We tend to use campsite more of a base for exploring different areas so didn't spend much time there that wasnt early morning/late night, however when we were there it was always pleasant.

The rain also slowed us down for packing up so we ran over by about an hour from when we should have left and we didn't get asked to hurry or questioned which was really nice when we were super stressed trying to pack up a soggy massive tent!

Thank you so much for a lovely stay!

Liked Lovely owners, super friendly and accommodating! Pitch was spacious and nicely, simple. Quiet overall, bar a few campers! Price spot on for what’s on offer.

Disliked Simple, no frills site and only reason we didn’t score higher!

Shepherd's hut

Liked This is a great campsite. Location is perfect and the sectioned off areas are really well designed, making it feel like you have your own private area. The facilities are excellent with the added bonus of having a small shop to get your basics and a breakfast and coffee hut which then doubles as a pizza kitchen in the evening. We've stayed here 4 times now and will definitely be back next year.

Local attractions

Stretch those legs out and get your boots on – there are heaps of fab walks nearby. Traipse up Tregonning Hill (half an hour or so) for tiptop scenic views and then carry on to the National Trust’s Godolphin Estate (an hour’s hike) for gorgeous garden walks. (Top tip: the grounds are particularly ravishing when all the bluebells burst to life in May.) You can stroll by the sea too should you wish, using the scent of salt air to point you to the South West Coast Path, a mere couple of miles away. You’re never far from a stunning beach in Cornwall, either: the top choices round here are Praa Sands (10 minutes’ drive) for sandcastles, swimming and surfing, and the little secluded cove at Rinsey, just a little further east. For kayaking and paddleboarding, plot a course to Porthleven harbour (15 minutes). Pack yourselves into the car and you’re within easy reach of all sorts of day trips: St Michael's Mount (15 minutes), the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (25 minutes) and the galleries of St Ives (half an hour); you might also consider going all the way to the edge at Land’s End (40 minutes).
