Find your new happy place at Creative Camping, an aptly named campsite close to the West Sussex coastline. Located midway between Selsey on the coast and the historic city of Chichester, this laidback spot is a top pick for families and friends looking for a getaway somewhere just that little bit different. As well as the well-maintained pitches and green outdoor area, Creative Camping has a spacious indoor area for guests to enjoy. Come and relax on the indoor 'beach', sit back on one of the comfy chairs, let the kids play in the sandpit or take your pick of the games and books on offer. The indoor space also has a lounge and dining area, a kitchen with sinks, two toilets, two showers, a changing room and a baby changing table. When you spend time outside, you'll appreciate the site's quiet location away from the road and the natural feel of the place – sit back and relax and it's quite likely that you'll see birds of prey flying overhead. Dogs are welcome here and there's easy access to footpaths in the local area for their walks. The sensible use of open fires and barbecues is allowed, and guests can make use of the site's big barbecue and pizza oven. Handily, Sidlesham village centre, where there is a pub, is about a quarter of a mile away to the north.

Liked What a wonderful, magical, whimsical wonderful campsite. Thank you so much for having us stay. We had a lovely time. The bike carts are awesome and we loved all the arts and crafts. I hope we can come again sometime xx

Liked We loved our first stay at Creative Camping. Kym was a fantastic host and very welcoming. We stayed for 2 nights/3 days and found the facilities to be very good. Communal areas such as toilets and shower areas were clean and in full working order.

A really cool indoor area for kids to play in if the weather isn’t great. And lots of ride on toys for the kids to use outside when the weather is nice.

We will absolutely be staying again!

Disliked Probably would be nice to have access to WiFi if we were to stay longer so we can make use of our TV and watch movies in the evening. But our phone signal seemed fine so we could stream stuff on our phone/tablets.

Liked The set up is lovely. So child oriented with plenty to keep them occupied. It was quite quiet when we were there and made friends with another family with young children who pretty much became best buddies within a couple of hours. The pitches are a great size and you have plenty of space. It's not a far walk to the main block where there are loo's, showers, a little kitchen area with a microwave, kettle, sink and a table. This is also the are where the kids indoor play area is. Its packed with books, toys and a whole indoor sand pit / beach.
Kym and Gary are lovely, really friendly and accommodating, its very laid back!
This was out second stay here and we'll definitely be back.

Disliked It's not a dislike at all, but some of the toys are little old and have been broken it's easy enough to move these out of the way if you want to though. TBH, the amount of toys that there are available, this is really quite minor comment.

Liked Location to the beach, Chichester, Portsmouth.
Large pitches with plenty of space.
Enough toilets and showers for size of site.
Outdoor showers were hot and a nice touch.
Plenty of go-cars, scooters, ride-ons for kids of all ages to whizz around the site - kept my teenagers occupied for hours.
So many thoughtful extras and considerate touches - like the ride on toys, free to use firepits and BBQs, eye wash station and accessible first aid, disposable shower mats and much more.

Disliked Proximity to a busy road with traffic noise throughout the night.
Although there were lovely extra touches, they weren't clean. eg: BBQs were cakes with old food and grease. Easily remedied with provision of a wire brush to clean before/after use.
Tired decor in need of paint and tlc.

Liked A nice vibe, with both the owners and other campers being friendly.

A decent number of showers, has a fridge / freezer for guests use which is really handy. There are chairs and bbq pits which can be borrowed.

If you have kids there are plenty of things for them to play with which again are all available for free.

Liked Really enjoyed our stay, ruggered facilities but wholesome and just what we wanted for a nights stay. Our kids absolutely loved the go-karts. Warm, clean showers and toilets. Free to use bbqs and furniture. Would definitely stay again.

There are all sorts of coastal corners you'll want to explore while in West Sussex, from the wildlife haven wetlands of RSPB Pagham Harbour (five minutes' drive) to the cheerful seafront at Selsey (10 minutes) or the sandy stretches of West Wittering (15 minutes). Slightly further afield, it's easy to get to other maritime spots, whether you fancy a day trip to the seaside resort and pleasure harbour at Littlehampton (30 minutes) or want to walk around the historic dockyards of Portsmouth (30 minutes). Jaunts to the bright lights and vintage shops of Brighton (an hour and 10 minutes) are also on the cards if you fancy a really special day out. There's also much to see and do inland locally, with many of the prettiest parts of the South Downs National Park just a short drive away. While you're in the area, make sure to check out pretty historic country estates like Arundel Castle (25 minutes), and if ancient history's your thing you can make tracks for the mosaics and columns of Fishbourne Roman Palace (15 minutes).
