  • Superbly located Surrey campsite with easy motorway access
  • Thorpe Park, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor within 30 mins' drive
  • On the banks of the River Thames, with Thames Path access
What a handy camping spot this is… Laleham Camping Club has easy access to the M3 and M25 motorways, it’s close to Heathrow airport and Staines railway station is only about 10 minutes’ drive away for easy jaunts to the capital. On top of all that, there are all sorts of attractions within easy reach, including Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Windsor Castle and Legoland Windsor. And if that all sounds a bit exhausting, it’s good to know that the location within London’s protected Green Belt means you’ll have peaceful surroundings for relaxing on site. The River Thames runs alongside, giving you access to the Thames Path for walks and bike rides, or to the water for kayaking, paddleboarding and swims. The nearest major urban centre is Staines, accessible by car, bus or a walk along the riverbank and with a good collection of shops and restaurants, plus a cinema. Closer to home, Laleham village is 10 minutes’ stroll away, and has a convenience store and a choice of three pubs. The folk that run this Surrey site haven’t just relied on their location, though – they’ve made sure the place is a comfortable place to stay, with a good number of facilities including a launderette, free hot showers and handy extras including hairdryers and shaver points. Chillout time is well spent here too – there’s a small play park with sandpit in the centre of the site, and a wet-weather room with Sky TV, a pool table, table tennis and a dartboard. Next door in Laleham Park there’s an outdoor gym, a bigger play park and plenty of space to play games or walk dogs.

What customers say

This riverside campsite is great for families, with a playground and games room. Friendly, helpful staff are a highlight. Showers/toilets are a bit dated, and aircraft noise can occur. Parking is separate.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Met by staff on arrival, really helpful and showed us to our plot.
Great field in the centre of the camp for kids to play; little play area, sand pit and small goals. Club house with pool table/darts and hang out space for the kids - was all closed up at a reasonable hour at night. We were pitched right next to the utilities block/club room and kids went to sleep with no issues/not noisy.

Large Toilet block not luxurious, but more than adequate and cleaned well daily.

Opposite the site is access to a great little stretch of river for swimming/paddle boarding. Locks to visit either side if you’re paddle boarding /kayaking. Locals loved it too, the Thurs night was busy with groups that disappeared after the sun went down. Really chilled during the day.

Amazing location for day trips to Thorpe park and Legoland.

Disliked Nothing - great stay.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Love it there quiet peaceful site and accommodating most of the time

Disliked Just wish they had proper pitch numbers as it would make it easier for campers to know their boundaries instead of spraying it on the ground which in some cases is easier to miss

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Nice flat site , across from the river .. clean facilities slightly dated.

Disliked Not the site’s fault but quite a walk if you don’t have transportation ( we have large motorhome) we like to be able to catch the train etc .. it cost us £25 each to the train station which was about a 12 minute drive.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Staff friendly, site kept very tidy. A short stroll to the pubs.

Disliked Toilets/showers are in need to a spruce up. But than again if people didn't behave like animals the toilets would probably fair better.

If you're on a pitch near the entrance, adjacent to the Laleham Park car park, bring ear plugs. On a Wednesday and Friday at 5.15am a boot camp session is held in the car park for an hour. That means lots of shouting from the trainer, participants, rolling weights around the carpark, and they also have a loud boom box blarring out music. They obviously have no thought for the people who are trying to sleep at the campsite.
