This peaceful woodland campsite offers secluded spots. Guests love the friendly owners, fire pits, and unique vintage vehicle decor. However, some note facility cleanliness issues and frequent mosquito problems. Traveler site and unkempt arrival areas were also mentioned.

Looks great on pictures, left without unpacking after walk round.
Primitive grass and earth tent campsite (woodland, wild)
Liked Nothing
Disliked Dont be fooled by the pictures online like me. This site is essentially a tiny patch of trees next to a traveller site, the wood doubles up as camp site and junk yard/dumping ground. There are dumped cars everywhere and a rusted out, half broken down bus is in view pretty much where ever you pitch. If you dont believe me just look at the satalite view on maps.
The site has a small stream between it and the traveller site which is full of junk and rubbish.
As you drive in its all just abandoned trailers, caravans and dumped rusting out cars. The parking area is just a patch of grass next to some abandoned trailers.
The woods are just left with old camp equipment dotted about that has been left by previous campers.
On our arrival the site felt abandoned and despite pitch up saying "last 1 booking available" there was no one around, the shop/bar areas had no one in them and looked abandoned as well. Eventually a staff member appeared from a mechanics workshop/garage covered in grease, didnt ask who we were or if we had booked and told us to ignore the bus and pitch up wherever.
Genuinely felt unsafe to leave my car here overnight and certainly wouldn't dream of leaving my tent and camping kit here while going out for the day.
We arrived walked around the site and then got back in our car to book somewhere else. Really surprised that Pitch Up even advertise this camp site.

Mooie camping, ver weg van de bewoonde wereld. Volop onthaasten!
Primitive grass and earth tent campsite (wild)

Simple peaceful and friendly
Primitive grass and earth tent campsite (woodland, wild)
Liked Great, quiet, small, family run campsite. Simple facilities, but exactly the way I like it (outdoor showers and small bar). Campfire pits and picnic benches mean you can setup camp just the way you like it. Super friendly hosts.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite (wild)
Liked We stayed at Puddledock from the 14th to the 16th of September and had a really lovely time. The campsite has a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, and it's ideally located if you want to explore the coast Margate is only about 30 minutes away, which made for an easy day trip.
Facilities were great too; showers were hot, and there was plenty of space at the washing-up area, so no queuing or awkward squeezing in with other campers.
The small onsite tuck shop is a great little touch, and the bar was a nice surprisa pool table and a great selection of local draught lager made for a good evening
What really stood out, though, was the level of care from the owners. When we realised we'd forgotten a couple of bits, they were incredibly helpful in sorting us out without any fuss.
Altogether a great little spot, we'd happily come back.

Great camping in the woods but the toilets need more looking after
Primitive grass and earth tent campsite (woodland, wild)
Liked Great woods to stay in. Completely dark at night and can hear woodpeckers and owls. Rope swings in the woods for kids to play on.
Outdoor showers are lovely. Brilliant local lager on tap and the owners are friendly and helpful.
Disliked Toilets need regular cleaning which was not happening. One hand sink in a toilet has no water connected so can’t wash hands. A bottle of hand sanitizer would be good there.
Soap and toilet roll regularly running out. Maybe it was someone’s job who wasn’t there to keep an eye on the toilets and everyone assumed someone else was doing it. A regular clean and check on soap and toilet roll would have made a big difference.
The bar is great but needs a tidy up. It’s next to a garage and with the door left open the car fumes could sometimes be smelt in the bar.
There are also lots of broken down cars around in various stages of neglect or being repaired. Some of them are quite quirky and could be a bit of a feature but it feels a bit chaotic.
At the entrance it kind of needs to decide if it’s a campsite or a breakers yard.
It is a lovely site but needs a bit of a spruce up around the bar and toilets.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite (woodland, wild)
Liked Great location. Within the woodland and nice routes out into fields and public footpaths from the back. Wheelbarrows provided for ferrying gear from cars.
Disliked Facilities way below average compared to all other campsites we've stayed at. Campsite hub is essentially a car scrap yard and feels like a rubbish tip in places. Very little signage too - very easy to go to the campsite next door by mistake.
