What customers say
This roomy campsite is lauded for its generous space and riverfront setting, perfect for kayaking and paddleboarding. Staff are consistently friendly and helpful. Facilities are generally clean, though some suggest more frequent cleaning or updates. The vast grounds offer peaceful stays, but some campers experienced noise. The Hop Farm itself was closed for refurbishment, disappointing some expecting on-site activities.

Good site, facilities, be aware attracts large groups.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked This is a massive campsite! Lots of lovely level ground to park on, nice to have woods around the fields.
Disliked There were 2 large groups, I guess the downside of being such a massive campsite, it attracts large groups. One was a group of 20, another was a group of 30. We tried to camp away from them, but dependent on wind direction, the noise carries. One of the groups decided it was a good idea to sing (shout is probably a better description) till gone midnight. Not a reflection on campsite management as they do request no large groups I believe.

I am sorry you had to listen to some loud singing, was it also out of key?
When people book their own pitch we are not aware they are a group until we check the fields after they have already set up and it is usually in one of the most popular fields.
Hopefully there will be no large groups next time you stay.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked The lady on reception was so kind and helpful. She allowed us to arrive early to kayak and answered all of our questions. So nice to go to a more relaxed campsite where you feel you can relax without being stifled my rules. We’ve been coming here for over 10 years with the kids, friends & family. It’s always a good choice.
Plenty of space and clean shower blocks.
Great value and add such as as an extra person or car were reasonable.
We enjoyed kayaking to the Boathouse Pub at Yalding. A lovely pub on the river with delicious food.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Massive site, with lots of options of where to set up camp. Loads of space for the children to run around. Two toilet/shower blocks which never seemed to be too busy.
Disliked Was noisy from other campers late into the night (1am-2am).
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay with us I am sorry it was spoilt by noisy campers, we do not allow music after 10pm however when several people are talking or laughing noise does travel through open fields. We ask guests to keep noise to a minimum at all times and to be respectful of other guests.
Perhaps you will visit again as it is very quiet at times.

Powered grass campsite
Liked The toilet and shower blocks were cleaned daily and always had toilet rolls etc.
The available walks/ rivers nearby which were handy for kayaking. The tire swings in the far fields were good for children to play on. Most people were friendly.
Disliked It was a little bit inconvenient having to put codes in to use the toilet facilities however is understandable. Some of the children on the camp site weren’t very respectful running right through our pitch winding my dog up and nearly knocking food out our hands however I know this isn’t necessarily the campsites fault. We had a rope swing 2 feet from our pitch (basically on our pitch) with rude children and being woke up at 6am by them using the swing did ruin it for us a bit as I constantly had to watch out and never had any peace until 9pm when their headlights died. They ruined the tree by pulling bark off and throwing it at our tents when we was not there.

From the manager: Thank you for choosing to stay here and that you will visit again despite some disrespectful people spoiling your stay.
The rope swings are put up by guests staying so they can be taken down.
We look forward to seeing you again.
