Welcome to worcesters

  • Low-key farm site surrounded by orchards and woodlands
  • A 10-minute drive from Canterbury; Whitstable 20 minutes
  • Fresh home-grown produce sold on site; just off the A2
The people who run Worcesters describe it as ‘a little slice of heaven’ – and if you like a combination of Kentish countryside, farm animals and fresh local produce, plus easy access to the coast, you could easily end up sharing that opinion. Worcesters is located just off the A2 road, 10 minutes’ drive outside of Canterbury and 20 minutes from the coast at Whitstable. There’s a lot of greenery around, since the site is set among old Worcester Pearmain orchards and is adjacent to an area of ancient woodland. The trees will be your friends here, whether you fancy a cool afternoon nap in a hammock under their leafy canopy, or want to teach the kids how to build a den. This is a dog-friendly site that’s home to several other animals, including free-range hens, geese and ducks. Fresh home-grown produce will be available depending on the time of year you visit, with eggs, veg and apple juice frequently in stock. For cooking, open fires and barbecues are allowed in the designated areas. Worcesters has very basic amenities, including a fresh-water standpipe, a simple composting toilet, basic washing-up facilities and an open-air shower. A washing machine may be available in your hosts’ house by arrangement.

What customers say

A peaceful, back-to-basics campsite in a beautiful orchard. Praised for friendly hosts, spacious pitches, dark skies for stargazing & eco-friendly toilets/showers. Basic but charming facilities. Great for unwinding. Occasional road noise.

Liked Easy booking and very natural environment. Basic with compostable toilet loo in shed and hot showers in outside cabin. All sort of the charm.

Disliked A hand sink would be good for hand washing when the washing up sink in being used.

Primitive grass RV campsite

Liked Attractive, small, well laid out site for camping amongst the apple trees.
Good showers and compostable toilet was clean and not smelly.
Good value for money.

Disliked The only slight downside was a bit of traffic noise from the dual carriageway at night but only in the distance.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked It is an apple garden, realy lovely, you can come later, and everything will be good. The owners are friendly and kind. You should know there are two eco toilets, and two showers with hot water, but near ceiling open space, so for me this is summer shower. The weather was hot, so it was good.
This area has no electricity, so we were able to watch the August meteor shower—it was amazing. The night lighting near the showers and toilets is solar-powered. About 20 min to Dover, great!
For children there are nothing speacial, so you should bring something to entertain them, but our goals were Dover, Canterbury and meteor shower.
This is a farm, so you can buy eggs and apples there.

Disliked One momуnt from my husband, the motoway is no so far, so you can hear it, but for me it wasn't problem

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Close enough for us to go after work on a Friday.
Lovely showers - clean and powerful. Toilets were fine for us too - compost and no smells. Funny messages on etiquette which we liked.
Relaxed so easy going esp in regards to timings

Disliked Some ground areas lumpy - needed to watch your step . Couple of ground wasp nests which we camped next to - lovely to see some fly killers but I guess just be observant where you plan to pitch and move a bit if activity nearby

We bought eggs and honey - both totally delish. Slightly more expensive when we paid than advertised but we didn’t question as didn’t realise till we left - maybe we had old prices.
Love the flexibility and we found it quiet - I know some folk have mentioned road noise but nothing we remember

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked A lovely small, calm, rustic & relaxed campsite. All the basic facilities were available (showers, composting toilets, kitchen sink, fresh water)
Greeted on the drive by the ducks and chickens and surrounded by apple trees, this low key sight was a great place to unplug and unwind.

Local attractions

A lively university city, Canterbury is home to a splendid cathedral with a rather gruesome past, having been the site of the murder of Archbishop Thomas Becket in 1170. The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge displays objects of local interest – from pilgrim metal badges and stuffed animals, to paintings and Rupert Bear annuals. Famous for its oysters, which you can sample in several of its restaurants, Whitstable is a pretty seaside town with a pebbly beach and a bustling high street lined with independent shops and eateries. Check out the crafts for sale at Harbour Market Whitstable before going on a boat trip to see the seals or the Maunsell Sea Forts, just off the coast. Fun and art have made Margate (35 minutes) a popular destination. For the former, head to Dreamland, a revamped amusement park with vintage rides and a lively programme of music concerts. If you’re after art, the Turner Contemporary and the Carl Freedman Gallery host rotating exhibitions. And then there’s Margate Sands, with a tidal swimming pool and children’s games.
