The people who run Worcesters describe it as ‘a little slice of heaven’ – and if you like a combination of Kentish countryside, farm animals and fresh local produce, plus easy access to the coast, you could easily end up sharing that opinion. Worcesters is located just off the A2 road, 10 minutes’ drive outside of Canterbury and 20 minutes from the coast at Whitstable. There’s a lot of greenery around, since the site is set among old Worcester Pearmain orchards and is adjacent to an area of ancient woodland. The trees will be your friends here, whether you fancy a cool afternoon nap in a hammock under their leafy canopy, or want to teach the kids how to build a den. This is a dog-friendly site that’s home to several other animals, including free-range hens, geese and ducks. Fresh home-grown produce will be available depending on the time of year you visit, with eggs, veg and apple juice frequently in stock. For cooking, open fires and barbecues are allowed in the designated areas. Worcesters has very basic amenities, including a fresh-water standpipe, a simple composting toilet, basic washing-up facilities and an open-air shower. A washing machine may be available in your hosts’ house by arrangement.

不喜欢 There was only a couple of toilets which was fine for when we went, but in busy times this could have been an issue.

喜欢 Beautiful farm. Drive through the chickens ducks and geese to pitch up between the apple trees. There is a road near by but it wasn’t a problem and barely noticeable. Water, toilet and shower all clean and good condition considering they’re a shed toilet and outdoor covered showers. Worth every penny. We will be back

喜欢 Very cosey site, met the farmer on arrival and he was super friendly. You camp up amoung the apple trees. With very little light at night it has great stargazing.

Showers where super hot and clean, just 2 outdoor showers but no complaints.

不喜欢 You can hear the A2 from everywhere on the site, its more of a light drone than feeling like youre sat in the hard shoulder, but a loud car or motorbike can be clearly heard.

The composting toilets need some love, essentially two sheds with a wood bench leading to a little pit rather than proper composting toilets. They were shabby and needed some attention.

喜欢 Beautiful orchard, well kept toilets and sink area, friendly hosts, fantastic livestock, the boys loved watching them, quiet, lovely neighbours, amazing price, close to town. Incredible hand made apple juice and free range eggs available. Would definitely come again.

不喜欢 Perfect for short stays but no activities or shops that you can walk too.
Unfortunately the gas had run out in my shower so I had a proper camping experience!

喜欢 Easy booking and very natural environment. Basic with compostable toilet loo in shed and hot showers in outside cabin. All sort of the charm.

不喜欢 A hand sink would be good for hand washing when the washing up sink in being used.

喜欢 Attractive, small, well laid out site for camping amongst the apple trees.
Good showers and compostable toilet was clean and not smelly.
Good value for money.

不喜欢 The only slight downside was a bit of traffic noise from the dual carriageway at night but only in the distance.

The Beaney House of Art & Knowledge displays objects of local interest – from pilgrim metal badges and stuffed animals, to paintings and Rupert Bear annuals. Famous for its oysters, which you can sample in several of its restaurants, Whitstable is a pretty seaside town with a pebbly beach and a bustling high street lined with independent shops and eateries. Check out the crafts for sale at Harbour Market Whitstable before going on a boat trip to see the seals or the Maunsell Sea Forts, just off the coast. Fun and art have made Margate (35 minutes) a popular destination. For the former, head to Dreamland, a revamped amusement park with vintage rides and a lively programme of music concerts. If you’re after art, the Turner Contemporary and the Carl Freedman Gallery host rotating exhibitions. And then there’s Margate Sands, with a tidal swimming pool and children’s games.
