What customers say

Spacious, friendly site with South Downs views. Clean facilities, great showers. Staff are welcoming. Can get busy & noisy, particularly on weekends. Some found on-site shop pricey & desired more wash-up sinks.

Liked Everything…… except ….

Disliked No coffee at 7.00am or before. If no one wants to get up to work at that time get a Costa vending machine available 24/7
Good coffee is very important to many people these days, especially when waking up. Please really conythis.

Primitive grass and earth tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite (wild)

Liked Nothing about the site. The owners were polite enough to understand we didn’t want to stay.

Disliked Lots of noise. Loads of kids running around. Not sure how genuine the “great” reviews are. We arrived and left straight away after seeing how busy it was. Facilities looked disappointing.

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations.

As with any campsite, there are times of the year that are naturally busier than others. You visited during the Eastbourne Airbourne weekend, which is one of the most popular events in the area and, as such, our site was at full occupancy. Many of our guests specifically choose to stay with us at this time to enjoy the atmosphere and the air show.

We do our best to provide a safe and family-friendly environment, and the majority of our guests tell us they enjoy the atmosphere during peak weekends. Our reviews reflect a wide range of stays across the season, not just during major events.

We appreciate all feedback, but we also encourage future guests to consider the timing of their visit when choosing dates, as quieter stays are always possible outside of peak events.

Highly recommend to any family, amazing staff, clean and tidy site.

Primitive grass and earth tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite (wild)

Liked The open space and the distance rule between pitches. The staff were really friendly and approachable.

Disliked The distance from one side of the field to the toilet block. Could do with a toilet and shower block at the other side of the field too. The pot-holed bumpy track into the camping field.

Recommend to friends Visit again

Badic camp site with basic toilets and shower block. Still clean .

Local attractions

If you’re walking along the South Downs Way, about three and a half miles from site look out for the Long Man of Wilmington, a 235ft-high figure etched on the side of the chalk hill. Head to Pevensey Castle and Pevensey Bay to see a very famous spot from British history. This beach is said to be where William the Conqueror came ashore in 1066 before the Battle of Hastings. The site of the battle itself is half an hour’s drive away from site, six miles outside Hastings and handily enough called Battle so you can’t miss it. If entertaining the kids is on the agenda, Knockhatch Adventure Park (15 minutes’ drive) and Drusillas Park (20 minutes) – both with rides, zoo and playgrounds – should be just the ticket.
