What customers say
Guests rave about the roomy, level sites and the kind, helpful staff. The on-site pizza/breakfast van and fire pit rentals are hits, as is the well-stocked shop. Facilities like showers/toilets are usually clean and adequate, though some found them basic or dated. While many enjoyed the quiet, a few noted occasional noise, especially during peak times. The location is often praised as convenient for local sights.

Lovely site let down by noise at night.
Primitive grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite (wild)
Liked Pizza service, the setting.
Disliked - Noise at night.
It is supposed to be quiet from 22:00 each night however there were a number of people still being really noisy singing at nearly 02:00 on our first night. A car alarm also kept going off. People were also playing music.
On the second night a number of cars arrived after 22:00 so the lights were coming through the tent and one group of guys were putting tents up with flashlights at 01:43.
- Lack of water pressure in showers.
A mere trickle so took an age to wash. The toilets were also not on the best shape and needed cleaning and toilet roll replenishing more regularly.

Primitive grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite (wild)
Liked Nice flat ground, not too many stones. Many shower and toilet cubicles, never busy and nice and clean. Showers warm and high pressure. The building is little tired but well looked after and clean.
Pizza is first rate and beers are local and cold. Breakfast also excellent. Fire pits available, shop on site very useful.
A little more expensive than I’m used to but the facilities are good and you don’t have to pay for showers etc.
Disliked No privacy unless you make it yourself as it is literally just a giant field. Fairly standard arrangement for uk camping though.
Would be nice to have a few plug sockets available for charging the odd device. Also a fridge is always a welcome touch but none here.
Dislike isn’t really correct but you might struggle if you have a very low car as you have to drive down some farm tracks that are a bit bumpy (especially the entrance hill). Was fine in my regular estate car but anything lower probably wouldn’t make it and even then if my estate was loaded to the roof it might be touch and go on the rear.

Disliked Water pressure in the toilets was subpar
The road up to the camp site is awful, even travelling slowly

Lovely Chilled Campsite
Primitive grass and earth campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite (wild)
Liked Big 'camp anywhere' site with all the basics you need plus some decent food options.
Lovely dark skies
Disliked I didn't know about the recycling until we left (and we'd bagged everything up together). Maybe I missed it, but either info about recycling when checking in or by email, or recycling bags given out would be good.
