  • Plenty of activities, play areas, pool, crazy golf, arcade and bar
  • Within easy reach of the Forest of Bowland, Pennines and Lake District
You might fall over when you clap an eye on Beacon Fell View, a family-friendly park in 30 acres of landscaped parkland with rather spectacular views over the Ribble Valley. Slap bang in the middle of Lancashire, the park is conveniently placed for day trips to Blackpool but within easy reach of the Forest of Bowland, the Pennines, the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales; golf, fishing and walks are all available close by too. Firmly family-friendly, Beacon Fell View has many little touches to jazz up your break: purchase a pass at the poolside to access the indoor heated pool and paddling pool. During the high season, there is entertainment every night, as well as children's activities from 10am to 1pm every day. (In the low season, the children's activities run on weekends from 12pm to 2pm instead.) Adults can use their kids-free time to watch Sky Sports or down a drink in the adults-only lounge bar. (A family bar is available on site too.) Amenities include hot showers, a covered dishwashing area and a launderette, and kids can additionally live large at the indoor and outdoor play areas, crazy golf and arcade with amusements and a pool table. Pitchwise, all is level, grassy and within five minutes’ walk of reception; guests have access to water points and can park their car by their pitch. For supplies, nearby Longridge has a well-stocked farmers’ market, a couple of supermarkets, two decent pubs serving good food and – quids in again for the kids – an outdoor adventure centre with everything from water orbs to fencing.

What customers say

Beautiful views & friendly staff. Pool & entertainment great for families. BUT, touring pitches often small, unkempt, hard to access. Cleanliness issues in restrooms noted. Extra pool fees sometimes unclear.

Camping pod (pet friendly)

Liked The pod was bigger than we expected. Had a lovely double bed and pull out sofa bed. Very comfortable bedding and pillows.

The shop location and the owner were fantastic.

The main facilities area was very clean and modern. Staff were all very friendly.

Lovely welcoming and helpful reception staff.

We were pleasantly surprised after reading some negative reviews but we had a fantastic time and the boys already want to go back. They enjoyed the entertainment and free soft play.

Disliked Had a sink but no running water however the shop was directly opposite the pods.

The football play area had overgrown weeds and nettles. The play park also needs a revamp.

Some areas were run down when we went for a walk but have heard they are investing lots in to the area for improvements.

Mini golf is on the expensive side. It’s only small so doesn’t need to be that much. Even better if it was free as there was no one using when we saw it.

Wi-Fi didn’t work in the pods otherwise excellent when at main area.

Liked Nothing

Disliked Knee high nettles on the pitch. Booked pitch already taken. Uneven gravel pitch. Dogs running wild and adults using the park as a racing track.

Liked Staff were friendly , can see there refurbishing the site, which in honesty did need doing since the last time
We was there, looks like there moving in the right direction, we definitely will be going back,

Disliked Only real faults we had was the hedges and pitches could do with a bit of a tidy up , that said they have been re-tarmacing the site so could have been due to that

Liked Lovely and friendly staff-all staff were lovely helped when we needed it

Entertainment staff- tried her best and the kids loved it even though it seemed she was pulled from Piller to post with other jobs aswell

Bar facilities- bar was lovely and all freshly done staff were brilliant

Children's play area indoor- nice and brilliant when in the bar in evenings somewhere for the kids after the disco

Shop- lovely little shop very friendly had all essentials

Mini golf- well kept and plenty to do

Arcade- arcade was perfect for the kids

Static pitches looked very well presented so scenery from the bar was lovely

Overall we would stay again knowing what to expect but anyone booking based on the pictures above please be aware of the negatives to this site but a few small changes to cleanliness and overall maintenance the site would be brilliant

Disliked The touring pitches are in very poor condition, we were originally put on pitches 11 and 12 very small only leaving a few foot between our caravan and the next not even enough space to put chairs not finished sharp curbs with low gravel each pitch is not the same it's like they have just estimated pitch sizes

The pitch it's self was over grown and full of nettles no good when we had 3 children in our caravan one in our friends next door

Moved to pitches 1 and 2 caravan didn't fit properly but fit in side ways so managed okay but again had nettles ended up pulling some out

Swimming pool green water line around the pool grout filthy definitely needs draining, a clean and general maintenance

Thick dust around corners of changing room generally not very clean went in the water for 10 minutes felt the need to get out

Toilet block again not very clean floors and white trim around the edge had hair and black definitely need a deep clean but managed with them.

Children's park- around the park there was so many nettles to the point a young child tried to recover his ball that had gone over the pitch was stung so many times he was screaming my husband had to get him out couldn't get his ball back, nettles on all the embankments my 2 year old stung himself and was then petrified and had to have joggers on in 23 degree heat

Also a swing broken that has just been wrapped around again just a really run down feature of the site. Would say the park needs addressing ASAP

Liked Great clubhouse and very friendly staff.

Disliked The pitch we were allocated to (46) was too be honest very poor to say the least. There were no indications of where exactly the pitc was, just a numbered electric service point. The area was very unkempt with weeds growing through the gravel, hedgerows intruding into the actual pitches, building materials abandoned to one end and litter everywhere. Even the electric service points in many cases were broken and held closed by cable ties. The amenities were disappointing as well, outdated and dirty with a few of the toilets actually blocked. It's a real shame because if the pitches matched the excellence of the clubhouse and it's staff, this would be an excellent site.

Liked Club house very nice .Pods looked nice and area for the static caravan looked nice

Disliked Touring pitches were unkept. Over grown grass/hedges. Uneven grounds, no signage for pitch numbers until you drive into them difficult to turn round due to little room. Maps given out was blurred not able to see our number to where our pitch was located.

Rubbish left by previous campers on our pitch.
Photo on website is not accurate. No view only over grown hedges

Local attractions

Beacon Hill Country Park and the Forest of Bowland are mere minutes away by car and both have miles of walking routes across a range of landscapes including woodland, hills and farmland. Climb to the top of Beacon Hill to see landmarks in all directions including Belvoir Castle, Lincoln Cathedral and the hills of the Peak District. Said to be the inspiration for Tolkien’s Middle Earth (which might make you want to furry foot it there immediately), the Ribble Valley has the 70-mile path the Ribble Way, shopping in towns such as Clitheroe or munching one’s way around the Ribble Valley Food Trail. The River Ribble is a big hook for anglers landing chub, barbel, trout and salmon. City day trips are in all directions too: the kids’ eyes will light up with a trip to Blackpool… and for shopping, the Trafford Centre and Liverpool One of Manchester and Liverpool respectively should empty your wallet nicely…
