What customers say
Guests rave about the beautiful, serene setting and superb hosts. Cozy, clean shepherd's huts offer a "rustic with modern amenities" feel. Appreciated are the off-grid quiet, spacious sites, and clean composting toilets/outdoor showers. Firm beds were a minor note. Overall, highly positive with many planning returns.

Everything about this site is just…
Ruby shepherd's hut
Liked Everything about this site is just perfect! So pleased to have found it. Went as a family of 5 plus 2 dogs staying in Ruby with a tent pitched next to the hut. Charmingly rustic and quirky but with everything you could possibly need. Don’t be put off by the outdoor shower, water was hot and just a joy to be showering in the open air! The owners were so helpful, nothing was a problem at all (even extra marshmallows when we forgot to pick them up at the shop!). We’ll definitely be back!

Thomas shepherd's hut
Liked We booked a last minute night away and so glad we did, fox worlds was beautiful and so peaceful. The owners couldn’t do enough for you and my little boy loved seeing the horses and sheep. The Huts were so clean and comfy, we got upgraded to Betty which was even better for us for space and convenience with a little boy and dog.

We stayed in George for two…
George shepherd's hut
Liked We stayed in George for two nights, 2 adults and our two children (17 & 13). The hut and kitchen have absolutely everything you need, no need to pack any kitchen items including plates and cups etc. The hut is really homely and cosy, and the 4 of us fit in really comfortably. We had amazing weather so managed to cook and sit outside late into the evening, we used the fire pit too which was another lovely touch. The site itself is so peaceful, the way the huts are placed you really feel like you are the only ones there! We were dreading using the shower but it was actually a very pleasant experience!!! The owners are lovely, nothing is too much and they are happy to help with any local places to go. Getting up for the loo in the middle of the night and seeing the sky bursting with bright stars was brilliant!!! We will definitely go back one day.
Disliked I’m fussy so the compost toilet was never going to be my favourite part of the stay. That said, the toilets are spotlessly clean and do the job they are there to do!
A freezer compartment to store ice for drinks would be handy.

Ruby shepherd's hut
Liked We had such a wonderful stay in Ruby, the off grid hut. The location was wonderful with a private pitch. The hosts were lovely and could not be kinder. It was central with most areas in the lakes being easily accessible by car. We would 100% love to come again!!
