Shepherd's Crag Glamping: Looking out over the farm and campsite towards Ingleborough

General

  • Small and peaceful family farm site with views of the Yorkshire Dales
  • A 20-minute drive to the Lake District and Arnside & Silverdale
  • Walks from the doorstep; shared gas cooking area and fridge-freezer

Shepherd’s Crag Glamping is a peaceful sort of place – and it’s easy to see how, with a handful of pitches surrounded by the gorgeous Cumbrian countryside. Surrounded by crags and hikes from the doorstep, you’re free to be as active as you like. Those lazier times are just splendid too – there are views of the Yorkshire Dales and Ingleborough.

What might a day go like here? Once you’ve rolled out of the hay and rustled up something to eat using the shared gas cooking, fridge-freezer and washing-up facilities, you might want to head to the rear of the site. From there, it’s a short walk to the Hutton Roof Crags, Newbiggin Crags and Farleton Knott, which have far-reaching views the Lake District and sea (they’re also a hot walking, hiking, climbing and mountain biking spot, by the way).

Shepherd’s Crag Glamping is on a family farm where guests have access to charging points, two composting loos and hot showers. As it’s such a small site, there should never be too long to queue. Plus, all the pitches are carefully and tactfully positioned to give you your own space and privacy, while taking advantage of the great views.

When you’re ready to put on your adventurer’s hat, the Lake District National Park is 20 minutes’ drive away, as is the Arnside & Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Yorkshire Dales are 25 minutes’ drive away.
