  • Touring site with stunning fell views five minutes’ drive from Keswick
  • In the Lake District National Park; Walla Crag 10 minutes’ drive
  • Fresh eggs and milk sold on site; local shop and pub 10 minutes’ walk
With a spectacular backdrop of lakeland fells such as Blencathra, Skiddaw and Latrigg, The Willows is a gorgeous spot for caravan or campervan holidays in the Lake District National Park. Set just outside the village of Braithwaite (10 minutes' walk) and easily accessed from the A66, this farm site is also five minutes’ drive from the cafés and galleries of Keswick. On site, you can buy essentials such as free-range eggs, fresh milk, butter and a selection of dairy produce. Most other basics (and stuff for barbecues) can be found at the local shop (10 minutes’ walk), which is open seven days a week. There’s a pub and a tearoom in Braithwaite too. The rural setting of The Willows combines with modern amenities in the wooden shower block to make your stay both convenient and peaceful. Dogs and kids are more than welcome, and you can all stretch your legs (or paws) on walking trails right from the pitches. Please just keep your dogs on leads around the site as there are farm animals in the vicinity.

Liked Perfectly positioned - great views, walkways on the door step and a beautiful pub serving excellent food and drinks only 10 mins walk away. Facilities provided everything you needed and the shower was nice and hot (nothing worse than lukewarm water)!

Lindsey Sent a fantastic document with recommendations- we just about ticked them all off! We particularly loved the fellhouse in the town- really lovely restaurant and perfect destination after a walk to Keswick from the campsite.

Liked Gorgeous views wherever you looked. Ideally placed for Keswick. Level pitches. Toilet and shower clean and pot washing facility provided for those who need it. Hosts were lovely. We stayed throughout Storm Amy. Very wild weather but received a message the next morning to check we were ok. We couldn’t put the awning up due to the hard standing but it wouldn’t have survived the storm anyway Not a deal breaker as we loved the location and the chilled feel around the site. Definitely booking again. Well done The Willows, we loved it!!

Disliked Nothing not to like.

From the manager: Good morning Julie,
Thank you for your fabulous review massively appreciated ! That was such a bad storm you all dealt with it so well it could and did put a lot of people off so thank you for sticking it out ! x Hoping that next time you come the site is even better the toilet refurbishments should be completed so they are all of the same standard as the first block. Look forward to welcoming you back, Lindsey

Liked Nice quiet site, with nice views. Close to local village, 5 to 10 min walk to pubs. Facilities are clean and warm and owners kept good contact and where very helpful. Local bus stop at end of drive way and cycle path into Keswick

Disliked Main touring pitches not very big. Site has some unmarked pitches which we used and as there was only two vans on, we had plenty of room.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Allen, thanks for the review, we are definitely going to rejig the marked pitches while we are quieting down now based on feedback i think we are going to have to, keep an eye on the website and I will upload a hopefully improved layout soon. Again thanks for the review and see you again, Lindsey

Great owners very friendly and relaxed. Definitely stay again.

Liked Everything. The view was breathtaking and the facilities were spot on. Hot clean showers and toilets. We had a little wander over to the business units and the bakery there was amazing. Lindsay the owner of the site is lovely and she has so many new ideas for the future of this site.

Disliked I can’t say there was anything we disliked.

Liked Stunning location with 360 degrees of Lake District majestic views. Facilities were perfect for our stopover, all very clean and tidy. Short walk over to Braithwaite where we had a lovely meal at The Royal Oak, dog friendly and very welcoming.

Disliked I used what 3 words to pinpoint the turn off from the main road and we noticed that there wasn’t a sign. I think just a small one would just reassure visitors that you were on the right path!

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Hi Charles, thank you so much for your review, I am indeed going to risk it for a biscuit and pop a sign at the end of the lane, if you type The Willows into google maps that does bring you right to us, but your absolutely right we need a sign. Thanks so much for a fantastic review it means a lot, Lindsey
