What customers say
Basic wild camping spot, loved for peace, nature, and security. Campfires and wood gathering are a hit. While mostly a great place to unwind, a few note limited facilities (one portaloo) and uneven ground. Many guests still want to return.

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Everything, my partner and daughter went this time as I had work 😢 they loved it even if it was raining, they seen the peacock and sent me pics (not jealous at all) they had a fantastic time, this is a great little campsite, cannot wait to book again

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Loved the relaxing site, it is as near to wild camping without hiking to find a nice spot away from it all with the added security of an electric gate.
Disliked Campers making fires on the ground and not leaving the site as they find it , although the site wasn't littered there were signs of disrespectful campers remains which unfortunately is everywhere you camp nowadays

From the manager: Hi
Thank you for your booking
Yes unfortunately some people are very disrespectful making fires on the bare ground . They are meant to be using their own fire pit. As you say it is not littered as I do clean each day so thank you for noticing but unfortunately some still can’t put away after themselves.
Would recommend for wild camping, only facility is one portaloo.

Liked Great place to chill and relax, perfect experience for wild camping. Lots of space to choose from.
Camp fires allowed and plenty of dry wood if needed.

From the manager: Thank you so much for the review I’m glad you enjoyed the chipped wood it’s all dead or fallen trees we have chopped for our guests so no tree is damaged for fires . Thank you so much

Bare bones but pleasant enough
Primitive grass tent or RV campsite
Liked Nice woodland, pleasant space
Disliked Field does not have much flat ground. There is only a portaloo, and only a single one. It's quite near the road and was a little noisy. The value for money was mediocre given the lack of facilities

From the manager: Hi Peter, Thank you for your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the woodland and found it a pleasant place to stay.
We were a little disappointed by some aspects of the review, as our listing is very clear that this is a simple, seasonal wild-camping pop-up site, rather than a campsite offering extensive facilities. The facilities available, including the single portable toilet, are clearly stated before booking, as are the location and price.
The field is intentionally kept natural and, as you would expect with wild camping in the countryside, the ground is not uniformly flat as it’s day job is a pony paddock . Guests are welcome to choose the most suitable available spot for their tent.
We try very hard to describe the site accurately so guests can decide whether this style of camping is right for them before they book. We feel our pricing reflects the nature of the experience and the information provided in the listing. We feel £20 for the night is good value given we provide lots of chopped logs , the portaloo & bin are emptied every 5 days at a cost of over £100 , the wifi , electric gate use & feeding of the animals unable to use that paddock in their grazing rotation while used for 60d camping.
We’re nevertheless glad you enjoyed the woodland and the setting, and thank you for staying with us.
