Roll up all you Harry Potter fans – now you can embark on a camping adventure with views of Alnwick Castle, where so many scenes from the famous film franchise were shot. Set on a two-acre field, Heckley Farm Camping is a laidback, off-grid sort of place, with a very limited number of spacious grass pitches on a working Northumberland farm. To the west of the field, a large beech hedge provides shelter from the prevailing westerly wind. Wherever you pitch on the field, you’ll be surrounded by wildlife; you can expect to see some of the barn owls, buzzards, hares and deer that live around the farm. The surrounding land is a mixture of cattle and arable farming, and you’re sure to meet the three pet pigs. As this is pretty much wild camping, there’s no electricity on site, although drinking water and clean portable toilets are provided. You'll be allowed to park at your pitch for easy setting up. You're welcome to bring your own firepits here (note, no open fires are allowed). It’s a firmly family-friendly vibe at this low-key, relaxed site; it is certainly not a spot for party animals.

Liked Amazing field and neatly kept ...once booked just open the gate and pitch up ...the toilets are very clean and the surroundings are very quiet ..slabs are at hand for your firepit and there is a picnic table available to use too ...this is now my favourite site and deffo be returning on a regular basis

Liked Great location if you want a wild camping vibe. The owner was really friendly and popped by to see if we needed anything Even helped us sort a spare tyre for our van. Toilets were clean and stocked with loo roll. Would definitely stay again!

Liked Thanks again, Lance, for having us! This was our second stay and we'll definitely be back. The campsite is perfect if you're after a simple, back to basics stay with a wild camping feel. The location is ideal for exploring Alnwick Castle, Bamburgh Castle and the surrounding area.

Lance is always so friendly and approachable, and once again gave us some great recommendations for places to visit. I also loved that the cows are now in the field next to the campsite, it was such a lovely way to wake up each morning!

Disliked There wasn't anything I disliked about the campsite itself. We come here to escape the hustle and bustle of Nottingham and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of nature. Unfortunately, every now and then a few people arrive wanting to party and play loud music, even though it's clear most people are there for a quiet, relaxing break. Thankfully, Lance is always on hand to deal with situations like this quickly and respectfully.

Disliked Expensive considering there was no facilities, basically a field with a portaloo.
