  • Peaceful and family-run site next to the Forest of Bowland
  • In a walkers' paradise near the Yorkshire Three Peaks
  • A variety of pre-ordered homemade pizzas on Saturday evenings
These routes are made for walking… Orcaber Caravan and Camping Site is in the Three Peaks area of the Yorkshire Dales National Park for hikes up Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent, and right next to the wanders and strides of the Forest of Bowland, a National Landscape. Many more walks and footpaths start directly from the site; get a map from the site information office to show you on your way. Based at the village of Austwick and a 10-minute drive from the market town of Settle, the site is a peaceful and family-run site set among outstanding scenery, with horses and sheep grazing in the neighbouring fields. Dogs are welcome (on leads on site at all times, please), and a big field with a stream is allocated as a dog walk area on site. Pitches at Orcaber Caravan and Camping Site are large, flat and well-drained. Facilities include separate ladies' and gents' showers with plenty of hot water; toilets; a freezer for ice packs, and an info room with details of local attractions, events and those many local walks. A variety of homemade pizzas are available on Saturday evenings from 5pm to 8.30pm from April to early September; these can be pre-ordered from seven days before.

What customers say

This tidy park has great amenities, including super clean restrooms. Staff are consistently praised as friendly and helpful. Spacious sites and a convenient shop are highlights. Ideal for exploring Yorkshire Dales, with lots of walking. Generally peaceful, though some noted noise during peak times. Paid showers are a minor concern for some, but good value.

Liked Well maintained tent pitches, extremely clean wash facilities, well stocked onsite shop, pre order stonebaked pizzas for Saturday night, friendly staff, free fire pit hire, picnic benches available (first come, first served), separate field for football with nets, lovely river and picnic site 5 min walk away, 4 washing up stations, multiple showers in 2 shower blocks (50p for 10mins) plenty of bins for recycling, free WiFi and stunning views.

A great first camping trip for our family of 4 with electric hook up, we will definitely be back!!

Primitive grass tent or RV campsite

Liked We didn’t stay long enough to find out whether there was anything to like as it was far too overcrowded.

Disliked Oversold non-electric pitches. Far too crowded as no allotted space per pitch so everyone was just a jumbled mess. Since there was no allotted pitch there was also no need for check in to be enforced by 8pm.

Powered grass campervan, tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Love everything, the facilities are exceptionally clean and the grounds are well looked after. The staff are very friendly, the location is perfect and quiet.

We’ve stayed here twice now, the kids love it and so do we. It’s 50p to use the hot water in the shower but it really doesn’t bother me as you can tell they invest it back into the camp site and keep it clean and tidy.

Fresh water tapes dotted around the site and a little football pitch with 2 goals in for the kids to play on. They have a little walking area that has an enclosed fenced off part for dogs to blow off some steam.

Disliked Nothing to dislike.
