  • Award-winning park between Scarborough and Pickering
  • Excellently maintained amenities including family bathroom
  • Licensed shop and play area on site
Jasmine Park is an award-winning caravan and camping park midway between Scarborough and Pickering, just a short drive from attractions and sandy beaches. The site has top-notch shower and toilet facilities that are maintained to an excellent standard of cleanliness and guests are invited to use the refuse and recycling points while on site. There's also a a family and disabled bathroom with a private wetroom with toilet, shower, sink and a bath, plus a pot wash and a laundry area. Other facilities include a play area complete with swings, slides and spring animals to keep kids going for hours. Guests can also pick up essentials at the licensed shop and get tips for visits in the surrounding area from our tourist information centre with all the brochures and leaflets for you to plan and enjoy your holiday. Wifi is available on site at a small hourly, daily or weekly charge as required. Guests may spot pheasants, owls and even the odd fox (don’t worry, the country gents are a lot more shy than their gangsta urban cousins) at this peaceful site on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors.

Liked Had a park for my 2.5year old.

Disliked We came for a 2 night stay however, left after one. Absolutely inundated with flies in our tent, and all over the site. We spoke to other couples who have been and brought fly spray, traps and nothing would work.
My 18m old son had 15 flies in his bed we counted. He wouldn’t sleep therefore crying till early hours. The toilets were not clean at all and the shop is only open for very limited hours 1.5hr in a morning and same in afternoon. The field next to the tent pitches has a huge muck heap which is only the other side of a tree, no wonder there were flies.

From the manager: Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, though we’re sorry your stay didn’t go as you’d hoped.

Being in the middle of the countryside does mean we sometimes see more flies, especially in warm weather. While this can be frustrating, it is a common part of rural life and can vary depending on weather and time of year. That said, we’re confident in the cleanliness of the park and our facilities, which are checked and cleaned regularly throughout the day.

We’d also like to clarify that there isn’t a "huge muck heap" on the park or in the surrounding fields. The land nearby is used for seasonal crops and grazing, and is well maintained by local farmers.

Our shop hours are displayed clearly and, while limited to peak demand, are designed to ensure staff are available elsewhere on the park when needed.

We’re genuinely sorry your experience wasn’t more enjoyable and wish you all the best with future trips.

Liked A beautifully kept site situated in lovely Yorkshire.
The toilets and showers were immaculately kept, the cleanest I’ve ever used on a campsite.
The grounds man who I met on two occasions was very helpful.

Disliked The facilities block could perhaps be a touch closer to where my tent was pitched, but that’s being picky.

From the manager: Thanks for the lovely review. We’re really pleased to hear you found the facilities so clean — our team works hard to keep everything looking its best.

Glad you found our groundsman helpful too, we’ll make sure he sees your kind comments.

We’d love to welcome you back next time you’re visiting Yorkshire.

Liked We were welcomed on to the park on arrival and wished a safe journey home on leaving. The park was very clean and tidy. The tent pitches were a good size. The toilet/shower block was kept clean and tidy as was the washing up/laundry area.

Disliked The shower button needed pressing in about every 5 seconds. I personally would have liked it to be a little longer say 20/30 seconds

Liked Lovely clean site, spotless toilets, large pitches. Toilet/shower block not a far walk away as a few people have said. A board inside the store provides information on a local events.
Parking next to pitch.

Disliked Not really a disklike as such, we should have read the t&c properly - wasn’t able to use our stove in bell tent

Local attractions

Snainton is a pretty village which offers golfing and horse riding as well as trout and coarse fishing at the nearby Wykeham Lakes. If you’re feeling chipper, you can book in for a one-to-one woodturning lesson from the experts at the on-site Snainton Woodworking Centre. The big destination in the area is Scarborough. With 360 years in the tourism trade (it was the country’s first ever seaside resort) this legendary coastal town has plenty of experience in keeping visitors happy. As well as the obvious attractions of the sandy beaches, Italian gardens and the lovely Peasholm Park, there are trips by boat, open air bus or miniature steam railway, and it’s definitely worth making your way up to the imposing castle on the cliff tops. There’s no need to worry about rain stopping play either, thanks to the classic seaside amusements, Sea Life Marine Sanctuary, art gallery and geological museum. You could even hit the casino... The town also has a packed programme of events, concerts and festivals running throughout the year, including the famous Scarborough Fair music festival, Seafest, which combines a celebration of the sea with international folk music; and the annual end of season cricket festival, which has been pulling crowds since 1876. In the opposite direction is the smaller town of Pickering, which is transported back to the 1940s each autumn as part of its annual wartime weekend, but is worth a visit anytime for a trip on the North York Moors Railway, which steams through the National Park from here to Grosmont. Relax and enjoy the ride, try to spot the station used by the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter films, or disembark at one of the platforms along the 18-mile journey for some excellent walking in the glorious Yorkshire countryside. Alternatively, visitors can follow the route taken by their Viking forbears to fun-packed York, home to the Jorvik Viking Centre, the soaringly beautiful architecture of York Minster, the gore and thrills of the York Dungeons, and nationally important railway and air museums. Other attractions that can be reached in under 30 minutes include: Dalby Forest, which offers excellent birdwatching, wildlife spotting and walking; Castle Howard, one of the most beautiful stately homes in the UK, and a venue for concerts and many other events during the summer months; Flamingo Land theme park and zoo; the World War II museum at Eden Camp; and Go Ape!, a tree top adventure playground where visitors can make like Tarzan on the swings, bridges and zipwires.
