What customers say
This nearly wild campsite offers spectacular, expansive views and a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for nature lovers. Facilities are basic but consistently praised for cleanliness, including compost toilets and warm showers. Guests appreciate the spacious pitches, honesty shop, and proximity to excellent walks. Some mention the site can be exposed to wind and advise boiling spring water. An additional shower is planned.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Amazing views from this beautiful location
Was not busy even on a sunny solstice weekend
Facilities basic but well maintained - one, soon to be two, showers, a washing up area and compost loo's
Football goal for a kick about
Close proximity to loads of great walks and some amazing waterfalls
Cute honesty shop
Disliked We lucked out with the weather but imagine that it might be a bit exposed on a windy day
Grass was a bit long - not ideal for footie

Fantastic, amazing views and easy to find
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Amazing little site with some amazing views! Toilets are good enough as are the showers (although we didn’t use them, good to have available) small honesty shop with some basic bits. Little football net for the kids. We will return for sure
Disliked Nothing that can’t be helped eg. a lot of flies about of all sizes, but being next to a working farm this is expected. Be sure to check the directions to avoid the steeper hill (didn’t bother us but just for info)

Peaceful and beautiful
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Amazing place- stunning views. Beautifully set up, with some of the most pleasant composting toilets I have ever used, and a lovely little honesty shop. Very quiet - it was lovely to sit and listen to the farm animals and the varied birds.
Disliked Not a dislike, but the position on a hill means it is exposed so be aware of the wind forecast if you are in a tent.
Bring water to drink - the spring water is fine once boiled but easier to use own for water bottles.
Arrive the ‘long way’ around via Gale Bank if you are in anything bigger than a very small van.
