What customers say
Campers love the stunning Dales views and peaceful setting, perfect for hikes. Facilities like compost toilets and showers are generally clean and well-kept. Some guests found the site windy and noted spring water needs boiling. A few wished for more showers during busy periods.

Beautiful site, with back to nature to nature feel
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked As mother and teenage daughter this is our second visit to this site (we came last year in July) and now by far our favourite camping spot in the dales! We LOVED the little sheep that popped up by our tent each morning - added to the wild vibe. Incredibly windy on Friday night so people need to be aware of that, but absolutely did not spoil our vibe, in fact lying in the tent with the gales all around was a cosy feeling (once we managed to keep it upright!) Peaceful yet again and we had the last night totally to ourselves. Still gives the sense of wild camping, with little touches. Liked the extra shower, toilets and hand sinks this year and honesty stall for milkshakes. If you are looking for peace, tranquility, stunning views and lovely walks and want to get back to nature it’s the place to come. I’m sure we will return again next year!
Disliked Absolutely nothing! Read the camp information and you will come fully prepared.

Liked A lovely site with features not listed on Pitch Up.
We all loved the milkshakes and the pizza night went down really well as the weather was awful.
It was lovely to see the cows walking along the top of the field to be milked.
The tipi was a great place to hang out in the rain yet still see the beautiful views over the valley.
A very friendly place

The fresh milkshakes and milk were an amazing added bonus to the place.
The tipi is an amazing idea. To have somewhere you can shelter and still be part of nature 😊

Liked nice and simple quiet site. with great views over the surrounding countryside, and farm shop selling local milk and eggs.
Disliked Post code not accurate and small signage along narrow country lane, nearly drove straight past.

Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht.
Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Stunning views, but without a proper toilet or a hot shower.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The view from the campsite. If I were to rank all the campsites I’ve stayed at so far, this one would have the best view.
Disliked Toilets without flushing and a shower area without hot water.
Whoever invented these waterless toilets, whenever I see one, I have a lot to say to the inventor and to those who use them at the campsite.
Although it may seem environmentally friendly, I would say it is a completely rubbish and useless invention.

From the manager: Why did you even bother booking onto our site then? It’s quite clear on the listing that we have composing toilets. Where do you think the waste is going to flush to in the middle of a field? You literally booked a site that is advertised as a ‘nearly wild’ campsite. We don’t want you to come back and use our ‘rubbish’ toilets and our toilets think your review is useless.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Nice quiet location with great views.
Disliked As soon as we opened the van doors we were besieged by flies! The van was covered in them, inside and out. There was no possibility to sit outside and enjoy the evening so sadly we had to move on and find a new site. An expensive night!

From the manager: Unfortunately due to it being so dry and then has rained the cooler and damp and weather then becoming humid, does create a nice an environment for all kinds of different flies, pulling up in a hot van is basic science as flies are attracted to heat. They would have cleared off eventually given the chance. Sitting within the open countryside and given our site is a working farm, which is clearly advertised as so, there is an element of risk of insect life. To give us a 1 as an overall score when you’ve not made use of any of the facilities or actually spent any time here is very unfair. We have many 9 & 10/10 reviews and people have had the best experience with many people returning.
