What customers say
Spacious, peaceful spots are a highlight, with many enjoying the fishing lakes and friendly staff. However, inconsistent cleanliness of restrooms and showers is a recurring concern, with some guests reporting hygiene issues and lack of basic supplies. Occasional noise from events and other campers has also impacted stays, though the site is generally considered good value.

Powered grass campsite
Liked Peaceful, easy to find pitch, setup, good facilities, toilet, shower etc electric hookup.
Disliked Only thing is, great cafe on site and very reasonable price, just the opening hours arnt great. 9-4. Do offer a delivery service to your pitch, which is great. I just think it should open earlier for breakfast, maybe about 7am. And open later for dinner, maybe till 8pm and maybe close for a few hours during the day. Maybe three 2 hour windows? 7-10am.12-2pm, and 6-8pm. Just a suggestion on otherwise a great site.

Could be a really nice site if there were more staff looking after it.
Primitive grass campsite
Liked Small shop and cafe on site.
Lots of toilets and showers.
Friendly staff although the poor girl on reception was rushed off her feet.
Plenty of room on my pitch.
Disliked Site was untidy in areas, mostly untrimmed hedges around the smaller individual pitches.
Toilets and showers weren’t the cleanest.
I didn’t see a fire station. There was an assembly point but I didn’t see anywhere with equipment incase of fire.
There may have been one but it wasn’t pointed out to me.
I didn’t take into account same sex or larger group bookings and the fact they could be a bit noisy (totally my fault!)
Ball games were also allowed around the pitches which got a bit much.
No quiet time switch off so still quite noisy at midnight.

Primitive grass campsite
Liked Great amount of space, good atmosphere, nice little shop, cafe and top notch facilities. Easy access to public footpath walk into Wolvey, which has a cool pub called The Blue Pig, didn't visit the other pub. All round great experience, this is our second visit also.

Overall decent site ,other people’s cleanliness let it down
Powered grass campsite
Liked Nice site …facilities adequate…nice walks around the fishing lakes for the dog …considering there was a large number of families onsite it was very quiet and peaceful during the day …supermarket a short drive away if needed
Disliked Could have done with more dishwashing facilities and pot wash left filthy after other people had used it ..toilet/showers did get a bit dirty later on in the day but a lot of this isn’t down to the site but due to other people’s respect for the facilities….and did end up with some noisy neighbours playing music till early hours so could maybe do with a curfew for music

Liked Great fishing lakes! Lovely big pitches. Local to us, easy to find. Friendly campers. Choice of where to pitch.
Disliked Noise from the events marquee went on too late on one night. Toilets were dirty :-(

Not much really, but we did…
Powered grass campsite
Liked Not much really, but we did like the unlimited pitch size
Disliked Ok, here we go - arrived to a some what reserved reception (couldn’t really be bothered), showed us the one and only drinking water tap for the whole site, situated at the cafe, as well as the one and only pot washing up sink. Pointed to an area in the far corner of the first field where we should pitch, the electric hook up was hidden behind bushes, i didn’t see any fire extinguishers, there was a notice about no open fires/bbq but this was ignored by some campers. The field was like that of telly tubbies tv programme but eventually managed to pitch as level as we could. There was a music event on Friday and Saturday night which went on until the early hours of the next morning both nights (in fairness to the the site they did inform me prior via email but went into my junk folder so didn’t see it until after). As well as the music event other campers were very noisy all night ( a group of late teens) there was no quiet time and no one to enforce this. The showers were the push button style and lasted 10 seconds (I timed them) toilets/showers were not cleaned or the toilet bins emptied all weekend, I saw the same spider in the shower for three days, the commercial waste bins were overflowing just giving the whole site a feeling of lack of care. Yes we know when camping you have to “rough it” a bit and yes we would agree but the basics of clean toilets/showers is non negotiable for the price we paid £111 for three nights. Would we visit again - not whilst I’m breathing, would I recommend to others - not if I want them to speak to me again
