  • Family-run 25-acre site 10 minutes' walk from the village of Wolvey
  • Coventry, Leicester and Warwick Castle within a half-hour drive
  • Café with a garden; fishing (for an additional fee) at two large lakes
Love a lakeside location? You should be happy with your lot at 5 Ways Lakes, a lovely Warwickshire site with not one but two large lakes on its 25-acre property. Those bodies of water are fabulous for creating a soothing backdrop for your break, and for providing habitats for the various species of wildlife that call this place home… And they’re sure to be of particular interest to anglers of all ages too, as they’re well stocked with fish. When you're ready to spend the day fishing, grab a fishing day ticket from the site for an additional fee, making sure to bring along a current rod licence and adhere to the catch-and-release policy. At four acres, Kestrel is the larger of the two lakes, with three islands, 60 pegs and a variety of fish weighing up to 20lb. Mallard, meanwhile, is a three-acre specimen carp lake with two islands and home to common and mirror carp weighing over 25lb. Not into fishing? No problem – this family-run site is a chilled-out place where you can simply relax in quiet surroundings, perhaps picking up snacks and drinks from the café (best enjoyed out in the garden area on a sunny day…) It’s a place that welcomes all guests too, with dogs welcome and accessible facilities provided for visitors with restricted mobility. This is a proper rural location, with your nearest amenities (including two pubs) in the village of Wolvey, 10 minutes’ walk away along a public footpath. It’s surprisingly well connected though, with the M6, M69 and A5 all a short drive away.

What customers say

Spacious, peaceful spots are a highlight, with many enjoying the fishing lakes and friendly staff. However, inconsistent cleanliness of restrooms and showers is a recurring concern, with some guests reporting hygiene issues and lack of basic supplies. Occasional noise from events and other campers has also impacted stays, though the site is generally considered good value.

Liked Great amount of space, good atmosphere, nice little shop, cafe and top notch facilities. Easy access to public footpath walk into Wolvey, which has a cool pub called The Blue Pig, didn't visit the other pub. All round great experience, this is our second visit also.

Liked Great fishing lakes! Lovely big pitches. Local to us, easy to find. Friendly campers. Choice of where to pitch.

Disliked Noise from the events marquee went on too late on one night. Toilets were dirty :-(

Liked Not much really, but we did like the unlimited pitch size

Disliked Ok, here we go - arrived to a some what reserved reception (couldn’t really be bothered), showed us the one and only drinking water tap for the whole site, situated at the cafe, as well as the one and only pot washing up sink. Pointed to an area in the far corner of the first field where we should pitch, the electric hook up was hidden behind bushes, i didn’t see any fire extinguishers, there was a notice about no open fires/bbq but this was ignored by some campers. The field was like that of telly tubbies tv programme but eventually managed to pitch as level as we could. There was a music event on Friday and Saturday night which went on until the early hours of the next morning both nights (in fairness to the the site they did inform me prior via email but went into my junk folder so didn’t see it until after). As well as the music event other campers were very noisy all night ( a group of late teens) there was no quiet time and no one to enforce this. The showers were the push button style and lasted 10 seconds (I timed them) toilets/showers were not cleaned or the toilet bins emptied all weekend, I saw the same spider in the shower for three days, the commercial waste bins were overflowing just giving the whole site a feeling of lack of care. Yes we know when camping you have to “rough it” a bit and yes we would agree but the basics of clean toilets/showers is non negotiable for the price we paid £111 for three nights. Would we visit again - not whilst I’m breathing, would I recommend to others - not if I want them to speak to me again

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Lovely staff, relaxed vibe. Great walks around the little lake and 20 minutes footpath walk to Wolvey with village stores, 2 pubs open every day and serving food. Little cafe on site.

Disliked Toilets and showers very good but not very clean and refilled with toilet paper.
Had to walk a mile to bus stop to nuneaton and Coventry. Plus was that the bus driver did stop for us near the site on the way back from Coventry.

Local attractions

Fancy starting with a stroll? There’s a good network of footpaths running from the village of Wolvey (10 minutes’ walk away) – and with two pubs in the village, you’ll be able to reward yourselves with a nice drink at the end. For more walks nearby, try Fosse Meadows Country Park (15 minutes’ drive), Brandon Marsh Nature Reserve (20 minutes) or Coombe Abbey Park (15 minutes), which has a deer park and a Go Ape adventure course. To take a look into the area’s past, head to Grant WW2 Museum (10 minutes) and Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre (25 minutes), or plan to spend a day exploring the many attractions of Warwick Castle (half an hour) – it’s got bird of prey displays, a Horrible Histories maze, archery sessions and a Zog-themed playground as well as the castle itself to visit. Your surroundings may be thoroughly rural, but city life isn’t far off – you might like to head into Coventry (20 minutes) to visit the twin cathedrals and the Coventry Music Museum or turn north to Leicester (half an hour) for the National Space Centre and King Richard III Visitor Centre.
