What customers say
This adults-only campsite gets high marks for its clean, warm facilities and showers. It's praised for its peaceful atmosphere, on-site cafe, and scenic canal-side location perfect for walks to Whitchurch. Some note road noise and pitch/access road conditions.

Decent stop, first impressions letting it down a bit.
FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked Pitch size was decent, only had the option of a serviced pitch. The toilet block and dishwashing area were both very clean.
Access to the canal where you could walk along one side as the opposite side is private moorings.
Disliked Could maybe route the path from the huts to the toilet block a bit better as the people in the huts kept walking through our pitch to use the facilities. The seasonal vans (I presume), at the entrance are looking tired and dirty and this is the first impression you will have as you enter the site.

Peaceful and welcoming.
The Waterside shepherd's hut
Liked The hut was lovely. Very clean and tidy with all the essentials. Just take a cool bag and ice blocks if you’re using fresh milk.
The on-site toilets/showers were kept extremely clean and tidy and it was nice to have the music on in there.
Dawn the host was lovely and very welcoming and we had some amazing breakfasts in the onsite cafe. This place is amazing value for money and I would definitely recommend it.
Disliked Not really a dislike but just be prepared for very poor mobile coverage as the hut does not receive WiFi.

So good I've already booked to stay again!
The Kestrel camping pod
Liked Such a great place for a holiday. We hired Kite & Kestral for a week. Super clean & perfect for us. In fact, I rebooked for another weeks holiday while I was there.
Dawn is a delight, the perfect host.
There were 2 single beds, a bedside table, charged side-light, & a couple of chairs. The facilities block was very clean.
The fridge/freezer is a great bonus - very helpful for campers (freezing ice blocks etc). There's even a kettle & microwave.
The location is well placed for canal walks, or even into Whitchurch where the architecture is stunning! If you have a car it's perfect for visiting Ellesmere, Llangollen & the Pontcysyllte aqueduct.
Disliked There's nothing to dislike.
Some people mentioned the noise of the road, it's more of a background/ white noise, & it's only noticeable during rush hour. Overnight it's very peaceful.
My only tiny suggestion would be to change the toilet seats to something more fixed. I don't think the quick-release seats are made for so many bottoms so kept slipping sideways!

A lovely clean site with friendly hosts .
Randolf camping pod (no pets)
Liked Lovely cosy pod Randolph with double bed , kettle, TV , electric sockets, plates , cups , glasses , cutlery and a bottle of water .
The hosts were friendly and helpful, the onsite cafe does a great breakfast.
Nearby Whitchurch is a lovely place with some really old buildings, a good market on the Saturday we were there and everyone was really friendly. Plenty to see and do nearby.
Disliked Nothing although no WiFi so you need to use data , I didn't find that a problem.

A great site , highly recommend and would love to visit again.
Joyce camping pod (no pets)
Liked The hosts are lovely, friendly but not intrusive. The pod was spotless and had just about everything you could need , far more than expected, including pots , mugs , glasses a bottle of water and cutlery, a kettle, electric sockets and even a TV .
You just need to take a cooker , (we opted for a camping gas cooker, there is even a plinth to put it on ) , pans and utensils, we took a large bottle of water for drinks, an electric cool box , we used our own bedding, (I also used a mattress topper as I'm used to one )
The shower/toilet block is also modern and clean. There is a proper washing up area with a communal fridge.
There is a pond with a fountain and a seating area and a brilliant on site cafe that is open from 9am to 3pm .
All in all a lovely site with plenty to do in the area , we particularly enjoyed the British Ironworks Centre. There's an Aldi supermarket, Starbucks, McDonald's and garage really close by . Would definitely visit again.
Disliked It is a little close to a busy road but we didn't find it really bothered us and it makes the site easy to find .
I needed to use a mattress topper but most people would probably be fine .
