If you had thoughts on an ideal setting for a hol between England and Wales, Hadley Park might well be it. It's in the Shropshire countryside on the border with Wales, next to the Shropshire Union Canal, and a handsomely scenic walk from Whitchurch, Shropshire's oldest market town. Hadley Park is a family-owned and run site that's set up for adults only. It has a small pond where guests can fish – for free; a big sundeck overlooking the pond, and a fully licensed on-site café serving fresh local produce. You can also have your hair smartened up in the Hadley Park salon: just enquire when booking using the details in your booking confirmation email. Amenities include a launderette and a washing-up area; there's also a chemical disposal point, and a modern well-kept toilet and shower block with disabled facilities. The park is adults-only and welcomes well-behaved dogs. A service station with fast food and coffee outlet is 400 yards away.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked Well maintained small site. Easy to navigate. Fantastic cafe on site. Toilet/shower block modern and spotlessly clean central to the site. Short walk into Whitchurch and a 3 minute drive to the nearest supermarket for supplies. Very reasonable pitch price. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Pool view unpowered grass motorhome site

Liked We had a one night stay on the 4th July we stayed on poolside the pitches are well kept the toilet and shower block are spotless, we had food in the cafe very nice and reasonably priced staff were very friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly with a dog run which is a good idea.we will definitely return to walk the canal into Whitchurch to see what it has to offer.

Unpowered grass tent site

Liked First time tent camping at Hadley Park (stayed in pod on previous visits)

The site is as brilliant as ever. With a few recent small developments, great to see a fantastic site being well maintained.

Lovely view of the fishing pond, which is in great shape. Saw some big healthy fish being landed by some of the fellas fishing there.

Great for dogs with 2 onsite dog fields / runs.

Look forward to visiting again later in the year.

Disliked zero issues.

The Kestrel camping pod

Liked Facilities like toilet and showers were exectional. Little pod we had was very clean on arrival and checking was easy

Disliked Mattress too soft. If we do this again im bringing my sleeping pad and sleeping on the floor. If it rains, you cannot cook within the pod for obvious reasons. The road noise does die down toward the evening. These were little niggles. Overall our stay was fab.

Staying close to home from Hadley Park, the old Shropshire town of Whitchurch is less than a mile away, and the walks of the Sandstone Trail as well as the hacks of the Bishop Bennet Way are easily accessible via the Shropshire and Union Canal on site. Elsewhere, several famed Shropshire and Cheshire sights are within 20 miles of the park, like Chester Cathedral and the city's Roman ruins and amphitheatre; Chester Zoo and Chester Racecourse; the fab follies of Hawkestone Park, and the llamas, alpacas and 50 acres of greenery of Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. Nearby Shrewsbury is famed for its annual flower show and for its Darwin Trail commemorating the life and work of evolution dude Charles Darwin who was born in the town.
