  • Adults-only site steps from the Shropshire Union Canal
  • Alderford Lake five minutes' drive; Market Drayton 25 minutes
  • Canalside for dog walks; on-site fishing and a café
If you had thoughts on an ideal setting for a hol between England and Wales, Hadley Park might well be it. It's in the Shropshire countryside on the border with Wales, next to the Shropshire Union Canal, and a handsomely scenic walk from Whitchurch, Shropshire's oldest market town. Hadley Park is a family-owned and run site that's set up for adults only. It has a small pond where guests can fish – for free; a big sundeck overlooking the pond, and a fully licensed on-site café serving fresh local produce. You can also have your hair smartened up in the Hadley Park salon: just enquire when booking using the details in your booking confirmation email. Amenities include a launderette and a washing-up area; there's also a chemical disposal point, and a modern well-kept toilet and shower block with disabled facilities. The park is adults-only and welcomes well-behaved dogs. A service station with fast food and coffee outlet is 400 yards away.

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked Liked the location next to the canal. Good sized pitches. Cafe on site was excellent. Very clean facilities. The walk along the canal into Whitchurch is lovely

Disliked The showers could do with benches to sit on while getting dressed/undressed and also some shelving to put shower gel ect on. Some of the seasonal pitches looked a bit shabby some of the caravans were green and didn't seem to be looked after which is a shame because it is a beautifully located site. Saying all that I understand that it has new owners who hopefully will tackle some of the issues

Pool view unpowered grass motorhome site

Liked Been here a few times now, always a peaceful and relaxing stay. Actually ventured out and visited Ellesmere and Whitchurch itself. Both closer than you think and had plenty to do in order to fill 2 days of exploring.
More dogs on site this time and all well behaved and respectful of pitch boundaries.
Cafe always spotless and great quality food, worth popping in for breakfast or lunch.

Joyce camping pod

Liked super clean facilities. friendly staff. great little cafe.

Disliked road noise. pods could do with a bit of a make over.
barbaque on the discription has been removed and replaced with a small throw away which is no use for for more than a couple of sausages and we had previously bought a large bag o coals and lighters for 3 nights stay, we had to go and buy a barby from b and m`s. if i knew this i would of taken one from home and saved £30. ... so take your own don`t be caught out....
trying to get info on fishing as to what baits, what fish are present and so on was not happening. nobody knew. this sort of info goes a long way when you pay to fish.

From the manager: Thank you for your review all taken on board . Pods have recently been upgrade with added tv , tea & coffee & upgraded bedding. However you would only see this if bedding was requested.
Unfortunately when we took over the park the bbqS were used as fire pits and full of cigarette ends hence why we removed them . We thought we were doing the right thing replacing with a disposable that were clean used for the correct purpose. Thank you for the point we will now remove them . I have never used one so I can’t comment on their use so I do apologise.
I apologise for my lack of knowledge on the fishing all our staff are not good fishermen I’m afraid . Lots of people fish here who do so with the knowledge of fishing so always good to ask advise of others.
Please be aware that these are charged at single occupancy pods at £25 per night so we can only do so much.
Hoped to see you again 😊

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked Spacious well serviced pitches. Facilities are good. Hot showers and toilet block very clean. Washing up area is well equipped.
Cafe on site was a great bonus.
Lovely walk along the canal tow path.
Although I didn't use it the fishing lake was a great added extra.
All staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Disliked The only thing that wasn't welcomed was the traffic noise from the adjacent road but still managed an ok night's sleep.

The Little Barn camping pod

Liked Very clean everywhere on site.
Quaint hut
The cafe was excellent

Disliked It smelled of manure around. Not sure why.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thanks for your pics & comments. we are located alongside the Llangollen canal which is surrounded by countryside fields . The farmers spread manure on the grounds to preserve the fields . Apologies this must have been the when they chose to spread . A sign that summer is on the way & farmers are preparing the land for crops 😊

Loved the location, the facilities and added touches. Great hosts too

Fully-serviced concrete slab caravan site

Liked Spacious pitches, clean and comfortable toilet / shower facilities and a good location!
Lovely fishing lake with extra seating and sun deck to enjoy a drink and BBQ / fire pit!
The dogs were made up with all the free space to roam and play and for anyone that has dogs who do agility training, you can use the on site course for free! Although we didn’t use the onsite cafe (sorry,) the food looked and smelled delicious!
Dawn and Derren have not long took charge of Hadley Park and their hard work, attention to detail and fabulous customer service made our 4 night stay one to remember and we will definitely be back.

Disliked It’s not a dislike, just an observation that the phone signal isn’t great (EE)
We use our mobiles to link to the TV in order for us to watch SKY which we were able to do albeit with a bit of interference

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Ah thank you Jon , so,lovely to meet you both .
Hope to see you again soon 😊

Local attractions

Staying close to home from Hadley Park, the old Shropshire town of Whitchurch is less than a mile away, and the walks of the Sandstone Trail as well as the hacks of the Bishop Bennet Way are easily accessible via the Shropshire and Union Canal on site. Elsewhere, several famed Shropshire and Cheshire sights are within 20 miles of the park, like Chester Cathedral and the city's Roman ruins and amphitheatre; Chester Zoo and Chester Racecourse; the fab follies of Hawkestone Park, and the llamas, alpacas and 50 acres of greenery of Cholmondeley Castle Gardens. Nearby Shrewsbury is famed for its annual flower show and for its Darwin Trail commemorating the life and work of evolution dude Charles Darwin who was born in the town. More modernly, a good range of plays are held at the new Severn Theatre and several riverside pubs and restaurants are around at which to while the night away. The bars, cafés and independent shops of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Llangollen are within driving distance: other top town picks are a picnic in Riverside Park, a stroll along Victoria Promenade, and a steam straight ahead on the Llangollen Railway.
