  • Family-run dog-friendly farm site in Cropredy village
  • A 20-minute drive to British Motor Museum; 40 mins to Blenheim Palace
  • Wood-fired pizzas on busy weekends; a short walk to pubs and cafés
Fancy a farm stay, but not so keen on the idea of navigating little country lanes? Set off to Oxfordshire and The Old Dairy Farm Caravan and Camping: getting here involves a mere 10-minute detour from the M40 at Banbury. That location makes this a most handy spot for motorway stopovers, but there’s plenty around to please those who choose to stay longer too. However long you stay at this family-run farm, you’ll not want to miss out on meeting the pygmy goats and free-range chickens and peering into the aviary; once the kids have done that, send them off for a proper run about on the large recreational field to tire them out before bedtime. Handy too are the smart and well-maintained facilities, including a toilet block, showers, a washing-up area, water supply and Elsan point. The wood-fired pizza oven gets going on busy weekends (and it’s also available for private hire if you’re having a gathering). Don’t worry if there’s no pizza action while you’re here: it’ll take just a few minutes to walk to Cropredy’s pubs, cafés and shop (or its play park). It’s also possible to walk to the Oxford Canal and River Cherwell for waterside wanders, and a short drive will get you out into the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for more walks, plus golf courses, fishing lakes and National Trust estates. In the main this is a peaceful site, but it's worth noting that a rail line passes fairly close by so you may hear a bit of noise from the pitches (or even spot trains – much to the delight of young rail enthusiasts).

What customers say

Family-friendly site, spacious spots, clean facilities. Staff friendly, lots for kids (animals, play area). Relaxed vibe, good location. Some found facilities dated, train noise a factor for light sleepers. Great value, recommended for families.

6-amp powered grass campsite

Liked Quiet site - even with the trains (which we didn't mind). Nice large pitch area. Facilities best described as rustic but good showers. Onsite bar and cafe were unfortunately closed when we were there but look good with reasonable prices. Good free WiFi. Nice village location with a couple of good pubs and the canal

Disliked No-one onsite for checkin - but easily sorted with phone call. Facilities not the cleanest but that may be due to our arrival time after a busy weekend.

6-amp powered grass campsite

Liked Spacious pitch with hedges to separate. Lots for children. Bouncy castles and playground, as well as Pygmy goats and aviary.
Food and bar available at weekends and food was good and drinks are reasonably priced. Staff very friendly. Well stocked shop with hot drinks.

Disliked Facilities are very tired and in need of refurbishment.
Whilst the Moho pitches are good, they are close to a main train line which is noisy and there are 2 very vocal cockerels in the adjacent field. They are early risers!! 😄

6-amp powered grass campsite

Liked Our tent pitch was large, with an open field opposite. Not crowed and quite secluded for our group. (3 families). Close to our toilet block which was almost private.

Kids enjoyed the park, animals and bouncy castles.

Site offered food and drink options which were well received on arrival night.

Pleasant site, which was clean, safe and fun for all the family.

Would recommend and return.

Disliked Train line on the first night took some getting used to. Eventually didn’t even notice the noise.

10-amp powered grass campsite

Liked The site itself was lovely, even with the trains going past in the night,I am an extremely light sleeper, and I slept right through. Shops close by for food shopping etc.

Disliked As much as it was a lovely sight, there were a few things off putting. Was ment to be a family friendly site,I found it quite stressful, groups of adults near family tents, drinking laughing and shouting loudly late at night, having conversations loudly that children shouldn't hear. We had an older couple (drinking every night) close by staring at our pitch continuously, which made us feel uncomfortable so much we moved our windbreak to stop them staring over at our children. The owners children, told not only our children but other campers children, they were allowed on the bouncy castles, also the owner threatened 5year olds and 3 year olds as well as other children with the police, for "vandalism " of a tree feeding the goats "poisoness"leaves off of it,right next to the goat enclosure. (Id assume if poisoness they shouldnt be next to the enclosure)I wouldn't of minded so much ,if he had politely told them, but he was very abrupt and nasty about it. I wasn't the only adult who witnessed it. The owners children also through dirt into a younger child's face, causing the child alot of pain and had to clean out her eyes. Also pushing other visitors cgildren off of the bouncy casltes. And pinning them down causing red marks
Not family friendly as stated, unfortunately we wouldn't visit again.
So many wasps. Wasp traps need to be put up all around the camp.
Toilet cleanliness wasn't kept on top of

From the manager: I’m shocked at the disrespect of some people - you being one. You were stood by the sign saying do not feed the goats anything but grass and feed from the shop. Another sign saying the hedge was poisonous, and yet you were picking the hedge to feed my goats. You then argued with me. I feel ashamed that some children have role models like yourself.

Yes I was upset by my goats being poisoned by an adult stood next to the sign who then argued. Not sure where you believe this kind of behaviour is acceptable- but not on my campsite!

The rest of your review is just lies, trying to bite back after being humiliated after trying to argue the acceptability of poising my goats and vandalising my hedges. Crazy!

Primitive grass campsite

Liked Fantastic weekend spent at the Old Dairy Farm with my sister and her little family. First time we've visited and definitely won't be the last. Such a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. Loved that the children had things to do throughout our stay from feeding the goats, Chelsea the parrot, play area and bouncy castles. Food was good value for money and tasted great too. Cannot fault this place!

Liked Nice big area with large pitches
Could choose our own pitch.
Plenty of ever all space.

Disliked Some large groups were pitched up together which created a bit of noise etc. not too excessive though.
Definitely a “wasp” problem on the site.

Local attractions

Coming to the Cotswolds for a bit of fresh air and gentle activity? Set forth for fishing at Clattercote Reservoir, or tee off at Cherwell Edge Golf Course; both are about 10 minutes away by car. Country walking routes are plentiful too, of course, as are fine buildings to mooch around. Blenheim Palace (40 minutes’ drive) is perhaps the best known of all the Oxfordshire stately homes (and with good reason, for ’tis fab) but it’s worth taking a look at some others too, including Farnborough Hall (10 minutes), Sulgrave Manor (20 minutes) and Upton House and Gardens (20 minutes). For a break from the classic Cotswolds activities, head out to meet the big birds of Fir Tree Falconry (15 minutes) or sigh over all the shiny machines at the British Motor Museum (20 minutes). And if you’re in need of a tipple or two to accompany your barbecue back at base, there are some excellent local ones to be acquired at Hook Norton Brewery (25 minutes) and the Cotswolds Distillery (half an hour).
