Brilliant site, great host, will definitely be back.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Upon arrival we were met by the owner who showed us where to pitch up. He was friendly and welcoming and told was what was available.
Perfect for a few quiet nights away to switch off, able to make your own camp fires with wood provided what the kids really enjoyed doing. Able to explore freely knowing the site is safe and well contained. Site was spotless, shared cooking area with bbqs and sink was clean. Other guests extremely welcoming and friendly, we all had a great time. Will be back, selfishly hope it doesn't get too busy.
Disliked Not a negative, just a suggestion a toilet closer to the camping area due to having to walk the children in the night, and not wanting to disturb guests in the other field.

Can't wait to return
Primitive grass and earth travel trailer campsite (members only)
Liked Fantastic site set in a private woodland. Level pitches and well-spaced for maximum privacy. The owners, Dave and Rose, are super-friendly and the perfect hosts. The site is new and we can't wait to return and see their project develop.
Disliked Absolutely nothing to dislike. Although do bear in mind there is no wifi and very limited and sporadic phone signal. Luckily this is a bonus for us.

Great non electric site but still having all the essentials
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked We spent a Saturday night at Labrynth Woodland. We were aware it was a relatively new site and weren't sure what would be available on site, wow what an incredible achievement and setting this campsite is.
There were 2 adults and 2 children (aged 8 and 6). We are fairly regular campers with a tentbox, but had never really considered non electric camping due to worries the kids would get bored.
We arrived armed with board games, and classic garden games, it turned out to be such a lovely time almost 'being forced' to create our own fun, something we'd never have done without the lack of WiFi and electricity.
We had a walk to the Staunton Arms for food. There looks to be a nice walk around the lakes to this but one of our party requires a wheelchair so we thought it safer to stick to the road rather than risk the potentially unsuitable public footpath. The walk was still lovely and whilst the road is a little windy with no footpath, the speed limits and low traffic volume meant we never felt at danger walking with two young children. It took us around 25-30 minutes to walk there, and the views over the lakes were still stunning even from the road.
As the night drew in we made use of the campfire setup to toast some marshmallows and the little two built a den with some of the wood available. We then went for a 'spooky' nighttime walk through the forest which I think spooked me a little more than everyone else!
Luckily it was a clear night and there is zero light pollution. So when the night had really come, you really could see every star in the sky so we all watched and counted the shooting stars.
The owners were such an incredibly nice couple and despite it being advertised as wild camping there is a communal kitchen/BBQ area and camping chairs and cushions available for around the fire so it does cater well in that regard.
It was a true 10/10 experience for us all and we are desperate to return. It was so quiet and secluded the girls loved listening to the different birdsongs and wildlife noises. The littlest even had a close encounter with an owl during our late night walk and cannot wait to tell all her friends. Thank you labrynth woods and we will see you again soon!
Disliked Having to leave!

Excellent site, highly recommended
Primitive grass and earth travel trailer campsite (members only)
Liked One of the best sites we have stayed on to date. We liked everything about it. We stayed for two nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. The owner, Dave was very welcoming and made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble.
The site is well situated for visits to Belvoir Castle, Newark, Grantham and Nottingham, perfect for visiting Robin Hood country. We are so pleased to have discovered this little gem and will definitely visit again.
Lovely for dog walks and there are two pubs within walking distance both with lovely food menus.
We liked everything about it. There are fresh water taps situated around the site. Pitches were great, huge and plenty of space between pitches. There is a communal cooking area, and sheltered seating area, great for family gatherings. We also loved the firepits. This was our first time to The Labyrinth Woodland and we're already planning our next visit, can't wait! A really peaceful and relaxing place to visit. Highly recommended.
All you need for a chilled weekend by the campfire

A peaceful campsite in a small…
Primitive grass and earth travel trailer campsite (members only)
Liked A peaceful campsite in a small glade in young woodland, mostly level with grass. Very quiet with birdsong a-plenty. Water tap (has a 1” thread for hose fittings!) is close by with the chemi-point, toilet and shower just behind. Mobile phone reception is weak (Vodafone and O2 tested) but do work if you wander around. David, the warden, is friendly and helpful and said there were two pubs nearby, though one of them isn’t dog friendly - can’t remember which one.
Would definitely come again
