What customers say
This peaceful lakeside campsite offers stunning views and plenty of space, perfect for nature lovers and those seeking a quiet getaway. Guests love the relaxed vibe and activities like fishing, wild swimming, and paddleboarding. While initially basic, new, clean restrooms are a plus, and showers are coming soon. Note the narrow access road and signage. Great value, many want to return.

Lovely little break with my son.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Great location next to a lake.
Disliked Only two (very clean) toilets but looked like they were building more... lots of helicopters at night as it's next to Nottingham airport.

Don't stay here
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The price
Disliked We turned up and quickly decided we couldn't stay here. There weren't enough signs for us to find it, so we had to ask someone (who did very kindly show us the way). The site is literally just a field next to the lake, no amenities. I know it's cheap and cheerful but we've stayed in other places for the same price and they've had taps and bins! We changed campsite immediately as the place had a bad vibe.

From the manager: Thank you for your feedback.
We're sorry you didn't feel at home here — it's a shame you didn't have a look around properly.
Just to clarify for other guests: we do have toilets, tap and now showers — all signposted once you arrive — and we're very open about being a simple, off-grid lake site. It's not a resort — and that's exactly why our guests love it. Please read the other reviews
It's worth noting that you booked, drove here, and left within minutes — without speaking to us at all. That feels unusual — and honestly — makes us question whether this review is truly genuine.
We wish you well finding somewhere that suits.
