  • Simple pitches at a Lincolnshire farm five minutes’ drive from Wragby
  • A 10-minute walk from a nature reserve and swimming/watersports lake
  • Woodland views; 15 minutes’ drive from the Lincolnshire Wolds
A little walk in the Lincolnshire Wolds, followed by an open-water swim or paddleboarding at neighbouring Ocean Walker Academy (addtional charge for the latter two)? If that sounds like a pretty fine way to spend a day, plot a course to Forest View Camping, in the Lincolnshire countryside five minutes’ drive from Wragby and 20 minutes from Market Rasen. The views and vibe here are mighty peaceful, as the site looks out over farmland and the next-door woodland (part of the Bardney Limewoods National Nature Reserve). The surrounding area, though, is packed with things to do: for starters, a 10-minute walk will get you to Chambers Farm Woods for woodland walks, picnic spots and a butterfly garden. Other days out? Well, it’ll take you about 15 minutes in the car to get to the Lincolnshire Wolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a stroll or to meet the residents of the Wolds Wildlife Park. The centre of Lincoln is about 25 minutes away for city wanders, and Skegness 45 minutes for a bit of beach time. Back at base, it’s a fairly simple setup that’s been designed to integrate well with its setting on a family-run working farm. Pitches are flat and well maintained, and have access to modern toilet and shower facilities.

Robin's Rest 1 bedroom cottage / chalet / bungalow

Liked: Really can’t fault this place. The property was very clean, spacious, and very quiet. We was the only people here as the camping hadn’t opened yet. If you want to get away from your phone for a few days then this is the perfect place as the phone signal isn’t too great but I don’t mind that. The tv is connected to the owners WiFi though so we could still watch Netflix, prime, Disney etc. Just couldn’t use phones really or go on internet with phones which again not a problem for me as I was wanting to get my partner off his anyway lol. We had a really nice relaxing weekend just what we needed. Owners were on site and very helpful. There’s a forest right next to the site for a nice walk although we couldn’t go too far into it as it was a little muddy but still nice scenery. Not much to do in the area so have to drive to get to most activities but again this is something we don’t mind.

Disliked: Was a little hard to find but the owner did say he wasn’t fully open yet so the signs wasn’t out. And he also did come over to us as we was lost but outside the actual property. More our fault than the owners but if I have to pick something this is really the only thing I could.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: 2nd time here and another wonderful trip. The toilet and washup room were SPOTLESS, nicer than my bathroom at home! The pitches well mowed and level, and the owners make sure to greet everyone staying to check everyone’s ok. I didn’t get a fire pit, but they’re well worth the money with the amount of wood and fire lighters you get. The site is peaceful and quiet, right next to some amazing Forestry Commission woodland which I got to explore this time. I’m looking forward to coming back regularly.

Primitive grass campsite

Liked: Shower and toilet and washing up facilities were immaculate. Shower was lovely had to pay £2 in honesty box but worth it. The camp ground was very flat which was great and very quiet.

Disliked: Nothing

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for taking the time to review our campsite. Its lovely to hear that our facilities met or exceeded your expectations! We do work hard to maintain the high standards of our facilities and we feel that it is a very important aspect of the campsite! We do suggest a £2 donation by honesty box for the showers but as you and most of our guests say, worth it! Hope to see you again soon! FVC
