Paddock two sheltered by mature hedges

  • Large family-friendly pitches within 15 minutes' drive of beaches
  • A 15-minute drive to Cadwell Park Circuit; half an hour from Skegness
  • On a regular bus route to Louth, Lincoln and the coast; near the Wolds
Based in the pretty rural village of South Reston near Louth, Holme Lea makes a handy base for exploring the beaches and wolds of lovely Lincolnshire. Welcoming families and (well-behaved) canines, pitches are scattered across a four-acre site that's neatly divided into two well-maintained and level grass paddocks sheltered by high hedges. This is a handy spot to stay in if you want to ditch the car – Holme Lea sits at the foot of the gorgeous Lincolnshire Wolds, with abundant cycle and walking routes to try out. The local village of South Reston is on a main bus route too, so you can catch regular services to Louth and Lincoln, or seaside towns including Mablethorpe (15 minutes’ drive) and Skegness (half an hour). The village also has a popular local pub, which you can walk to in five minutes; as well as serving a decent pint, it has a small essentials shop if you happen to run out of supplies. For those who want to fish, there are also fisheries within five minutes' drive of the site. Simple on-site facilities include a toilet block, emptying point and various drinking water points around the pitches. There's also a shower room (with sink, toilet and shower) available for a small extra charge.

Liked: EVERYTHING! We really didn’t know what to expect but we found a hidden treasure! The friendliest, most helpful owners, that really just want everyone to have a lovely stay! The owner made freshly baked hot cross buns for each person and did an Easter egg hunt for the children, free! Offered lots of help with cables/accessories. Lots of bikes/little tykes/balls dotted around the park area for kids to play with. Lovely clean, well kept site, toilets very clean and always stocked. No strict rules, just respect other campers! Made a fuss of the children. It’s in a great location for surrounding towns/cities. A pub within walking distance. They were happy for us to stay a little later on the last day and make the most of our long weekend. We arrived a little late (and stressed) from finishing work late, and as soon as we arrived, the stress left, such a warm welcome. We will definitely be back again! One of the nicest sites we’ve stayed on and one of the cheapest too! We were a little put off by the metred electric having 2 kids but between Thurs night to Monday pm we used a grand total of £9 - we didn’t use electric heating but everything else we used as normal. The electric didn’t trip once, and that’s not using camping kettle etc, just a standard house kettle/electric pan.
Thank you for a lovely Easter - I wish your business every success and we’ll see you again soon!

Disliked: Leaving, none of us wanted to leave!

Liked: we have had and amazing 4 night stay for Easter. The owners are so lovely and can't do enough for you so helpful and friendly, they are around throughout the day doing the jobs and always made time to speak to people staying, making sure everyone is happy (not often you get that on a campsite so was so nice of them to make sure your stay is perfect) lovely and clean site too. i have two young girls age 1 and 2 years old they absolutely loved it on the play areas and extra toys that are provided. we cant wait to come back and take our family and friends with us.

That made you very welcome
She gave us a choice of pitches; we were close to the main road, and the traffic noise was not that bad. The site is flat and very well-kept on both fields, with toilets and a shower room, pay-as-you-go electric, and only using £4 for 2 nights
Good value. close to Mablethorpe and Louth will be using again
