Paddock two sheltered by mature hedges

  • Large family-friendly pitches within 15 minutes' drive of beaches
  • A 15-minute drive to Cadwell Park Circuit; half an hour from Skegness
  • On a regular bus route to Louth, Lincoln and the coast; near the Wolds
Based in the pretty rural village of South Reston near Louth, Holme Lea makes a handy base for exploring the beaches and wolds of lovely Lincolnshire. Welcoming families and (well-behaved) canines, pitches are scattered across a four-acre site that's neatly divided into two well-maintained and level grass paddocks sheltered by high hedges. This is a handy spot to stay in if you want to ditch the car – Holme Lea sits at the foot of the gorgeous Lincolnshire Wolds, with abundant cycle and walking routes to try out. The local village of South Reston is on a main bus route too, so you can catch regular services to Louth and Lincoln, or seaside towns including Mablethorpe (15 minutes’ drive) and Skegness (half an hour). The village also has a popular local pub, which you can walk to in five minutes; as well as serving a decent pint, it has a small essentials shop if you happen to run out of supplies. For those who want to fish, there are also fisheries within five minutes' drive of the site. Simple on-site facilities include a toilet block, emptying point and various drinking water points around the pitches. There's also a shower room (with sink, toilet and shower) available for a small extra charge.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked Liked everything! Nice flat grass site, with plenty of space around. The hosts couldn't have been friendlier and went above and beyond for our neighbours who's tent had failed.
Hosts Steve and Loise showed us around their rental wagon, beautiful!
For anyone with children there is plenty of space and toys for them.
Ok, so some reviews mention toilet and shower facilities, but we found them more than adequate.
Nice pub (Wagon and Horses) just a few minutes out of the site. We had an excellent Sunday lunch there.
Also on the bus route (run 2 hourly). We went to Louth, about 15 minutes and loved the town. A lot open even though it was Monday. We intend going back in on a Saturday for market day.
Looking forward to a return visit

Disliked Our visit was too short

From the manager: Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review which is much appreciated. Look forward to seeing you back in the future, Wednesday is the main market day for Louth. Market also Friday and Saturday but not usually as many stalls.

Regards Louise

Liked Lovely family nice space for plots
Not cramed in
Loved the fact u can choose ur on plot on arrival
Not far from the coast

Disliked Shower and toilet block need more
However owner are aware and it's all a working progress

From the manager: Hi

Thank you for your review which we appreciate.

We do have Two mens toilets and two urinals, one ladies toilet and one in the shower room. As the majority of our guests are motor homes and large caravans with their own facilities it is only busier times such as bank holidays when we have a few more tents that you might have a short wait.

Regards Louise

Liked Location is very good, close to beaches and seaside. Local pubs and restaurants are vibrant with plenty of supermarkets nearby.

From the manager: Hi

Thank you for your feedback and for leaving posititve comments and the fact that you would recommend to friends and visit again which is great. I was a little puzzled though by the score of 5. We do take notice of comments and if we can improve campers experience we will. As you know we are a rural farm site charging very reasonable pitch fees, so although ideally we would like to provide more and renew facilities this would inevitably lead to higher pitch fees. In the present climate and a short season unfortunately it is not viable.

Brilliant time lovely owners would definitely return…

Liked Lovely traditional site, owners were lovely and couldn't do enough for you.

Disliked Only one female toilet, and no WIFI.

From the manager: Hi

Many thanks for leaving us a review which is much appreciated.

As you know we are a simple well kept traditional farm site, our aim is to provide campers with a positive good value enjoyable experience.

We do have one ladies toilet which in normal times is more than adequate, especially as the majority of those on site have their own facilities. At busy times, bank holidays etc. We do also have the shower room toilet for ladies use.

To add more facilities would mean having to increase Pitch fees which we are reluctant to do at this time.

Liked What a beautiful bank holiday weekend we had!
This site is perfect for the little one plenty of room for them to run around with a little play area and even some little bikes around!
The owners were around everyday and they made us feel so welcome nothing was ever too much trouble for them!
Shower room was lovely with a newly fitted shower id say which had a lovely hot shower on the cold evening!!
The site was quiet and the perfect distance from things like Mablethorpe, Radcliffe donkey sanctuary and fantasy islands!
We hope to see you guys again very soon!!

Disliked No dislikes but adding a extra ladies loo would be brilliant!

Liked EVERYTHING! We really didn’t know what to expect but we found a hidden treasure! The friendliest, most helpful owners, that really just want everyone to have a lovely stay! The owner made freshly baked hot cross buns for each person and did an Easter egg hunt for the children, free! Offered lots of help with cables/accessories. Lots of bikes/little tykes/balls dotted around the park area for kids to play with. Lovely clean, well kept site, toilets very clean and always stocked. No strict rules, just respect other campers! Made a fuss of the children. It’s in a great location for surrounding towns/cities. A pub within walking distance. They were happy for us to stay a little later on the last day and make the most of our long weekend. We arrived a little late (and stressed) from finishing work late, and as soon as we arrived, the stress left, such a warm welcome. We will definitely be back again! One of the nicest sites we’ve stayed on and one of the cheapest too! We were a little put off by the metred electric having 2 kids but between Thurs night to Monday pm we used a grand total of £9 - we didn’t use electric heating but everything else we used as normal. The electric didn’t trip once, and that’s not using camping kettle etc, just a standard house kettle/electric pan.
Thank you for a lovely Easter - I wish your business every success and we’ll see you again soon!

Disliked Leaving, none of us wanted to leave!

From the manager: Thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review. That is our aim, for guests to get the most out of their leisure time as possible. To receive reviews such as this shows we are succeeding. Guests being relaxed and happy gives us pleasure to see.

Hope to welcome you back soon.

Regards Louise
