  • Small dog-friendly site surrounded by the Lincolnshire countryside
  • A 20-minute drive to Cleethorpes’ beach, boating lake and country park
  • Barbecues and firepits welcome; five minutes’ drive to shops and pubs
Looking for some downtime in pretty Lincolnshire? The Willows will soon have you building barbecues or dabbling in watersports on the Lincolnshire coast 20 minutes’ drive away. The small, friendly Laceby site is 15 minutes’ drive from Grimsby and 20 minutes from Cleethorpes and welcomes dogs and families. There’s plenty of countryside around The Willow for walking your little furry companions, and they’re sure to be well pleased with the leftovers you wind up with after your barbecues. The keen golfers among you might want to get out on the golf course next door. Come nightfall, rustle up a firepit if you’d like (or get yourself any early night for the next day’s adventures). If you’d like something tasty to much on around the pit, there are shops in Waltham five minutes’ drive away. And if you’d like to let someone else sort out your dinner for you, there’s also a bunch of takeaways, pubs and restaurants within five minutes’ drive of The Willow. There are handy public transport links in the towns too.

Primitive grass and gravel tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The place was lovely, Alan the groundskeeper let's say was amazing such a nice, kind man. The pond was lovely, found little hidden walks and rope swing, it was great! 10/10

Disliked: Need to get bricks for people to build fire pits (but you can still have a fire it’s just a suggestion) and put Noah retreat on here instead of the willows because it was a little difficult to find ×

Primitive grass and gravel tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The field was well kept and tidy. Nice enough people running the place. Toilets and showers available and a sink for washing pots. Even has a washing machine and dryer.

Disliked: The fishing is now only for lodge owners/holidays. A huge fence has been erected between the lodges with camping field so it feels very segregated. The cleaning amenities aren't kept clean. We were there mon-fri and not once were the sinks and toilets wiped down, I should add that we were the only holiday campers on the field for the first two nights so plenty of time to clean the place. Also, if anyone is going any time soon, be aware that the holiday lodges in the next field are still building so it was noisy from 7.30-8am every morning.

Primitive grass and gravel tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We were using the Willows as a base to see family and have been many times in the past. Peaceful, friendly site. We were the only tent there on the day we left.

Disliked: No view of the lake from campsite any more, although you can still walk around it.

Primitive grass and gravel tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Not much

Disliked: The pictures are completely misleading. You can no longer pitch tents or camp near the lake at all as there are now lodges there. The site where you now camp is nothing special and has absolutely no view of the lake.

Primitive grass and gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked: nothing

Disliked: The willows, as it was, no longer exsists. It is now called Noahs luxury Lodge Retreat there is no signage for the willows which makes it hard to find. Fishing is only allowed for the residents of the lodges and not the touring caravanners. The lake is not visible from the touring field as a solid wooden fence has been erracted to sperate the tourers and campers from the attractive lake area There is continous construction being carried out with all the machinery and noise all day long which is expected on a construction site . The touring pitches are nothing less than a souless parking space with no electric,no views and no piece and quiet. Those who have have previous good times here beware of the changes.

Local attractions

Get your coastal fix in Cleethorpes (20 minutes’ drive). The beach rents out single or double kayaks and paddleboards for those wanting to get out on the water and there’s a boating lake if you’d rather keep your paddles to a pedalo. Cleethorpes Country Park (20 minutes) is another popular spot, for cycles especially. Perhaps you’d like to inject a bit of history or education into your trip. One easy way to do this is by taking a ride on one of the UK’s oldest coastal miniature railways, the Cleethorpes Coast Light Railway (20 minutes). Another is with a visit to Grimsby’s (15 minutes) minster and fishing heritage centre. Then, there’s the museum of rural life at the six-sail Waltham Windmill (five minutes) too. Lemurs, chameleons and meerkats, anyone? Kids can learn how to feed the zoo animals from the keepers at Jungle Zoo (20 minutes), a small family-run zoo.
