Folks who like wildlife, cycling and country views will surely like the idea of settling down between RSPB Rye Meads and River Lee Country Park in Hertfordshire. That's where Park Lee Valley Caravan Park Dobbs Weir conveniently sits, surrounded by green countryside and bordered by a river on one side where guests can go fishing during the fishing season. After hiring a bicycle from the site, it's only a 10-minute cycle to the River Lee Country Park's boat centre, next to a pub and café. The country park has a lovely network of cycling and walking trails, as well as a wildlife discovery centre (20 minutes' cycle), a white water centre and a disc golf course (both half an hour's cycle). Lee Valley Caravan Park Dobbs Weir is also a doddle to get to, especially for London dwellers. It's half an hour's walk away from Rye House train station, where there's a direct 35-minute train to London Liverpool Street station. The centre of Hoddesdon is also only a 20-minute walk away from the site, making getting out to supermarkets, restaurants and shops as easy as can be. There are plenty of handy amenities on site too, from the heated toilet and shower blocks (with wheelchair accessible toilets) to laundry facilities with drying and ironing and a chemical disposal point. Pitches are nicely spaced out, and dogs are welcome on site.

Liked Stayed in a Wigwam for 2. It was excellent. We will be back again. The external facilities the toilets and the shower rooms were also excellent. Cheers

Big Chief wigwam (no pets)

Liked Friendliness of staff, the Big Chief Wigwam pod, ease of access, location, value for money

Disliked some broken toilet door locks, no drinking water points across the park that we could find; also, the mattresses in the BCW are too big for any kind of standard sheet (much too long!) so if we came again, we'd bring sleeping bags instead of bedlinen and would encourage others to do the same.

Wee Brave wigwam (no pets, disabled friendly)

Liked I’ll stay there quite a few times and every time I stayed there, the staff are so kind and will do everything to help you. The huts are always clean nothing is too much bother for any of staff that work there. I will continue using them as I am a seasonal in Hartford and every 28 days I need to be off site,this is my first second and third choice.

Liked Pitch sizes are great. Allowed a fire and bbq is a quite positive

Disliked Toilets checked through to evening as come late afternoon they got quite unclean. I know there’s not much that can be done but duck mess on all pitches is a nuisance
