  • Quiet site between River Lee Country Park and RSPB Rye Meads
  • A 20-minute walk from Hoddesdon; 30 minutes to Rye House train station
  • Bicycle hire, countryside views and shop on site
Folks who like wildlife, cycling and country views will surely like the idea of settling down between RSPB Rye Meads and River Lee Country Park in Hertfordshire. That's where Park Lee Valley Caravan Park Dobbs Weir conveniently sits, surrounded by green countryside and bordered by a river on one side where guests can go fishing during the fishing season. After hiring a bicycle from the site, it's only a 10-minute cycle to the River Lee Country Park's boat centre, next to a pub and café. The country park has a lovely network of cycling and walking trails, as well as a wildlife discovery centre (20 minutes' cycle), a white water centre and a disc golf course (both half an hour's cycle). Lee Valley Caravan Park Dobbs Weir is also a doddle to get to, especially for London dwellers. It's half an hour's walk away from Rye House train station, where there's a direct 35-minute train to London Liverpool Street station. The centre of Hoddesdon is also only a 20-minute walk away from the site, making getting out to supermarkets, restaurants and shops as easy as can be. There are plenty of handy amenities on site too, from the heated toilet and shower blocks (with wheelchair accessible toilets) to laundry facilities with drying and ironing and a chemical disposal point. Pitches are nicely spaced out, and dogs are welcome on site.

What customers say

Friendly staff & great facilities (showers!). Spacious pitches by the water, perfect for walks or trips to London. A few mention goose droppings, old facilities, and noise. Good value & peaceful overall.

Liked Location is amazing staff are polite and friendly

Disliked Other people's lack of looking after there children and just allowing them to run riot destroying the women's and disabled toilets. Also there are signs saying to keep dogs on leads some people clearly ignored this

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Clean and tidy the staff were friendly. Booking in and checking out was quick and easy. The campsite it self was very picturesque considering it was next door to a industrial estate. All in all a lovely experience

Liked The site was super clean, lots of space to a pitch. Campers were in our spot when we arrived (after 6pm), so gave the emergency number a call and he was over to help within minutes. Thankfully the guys were great about moving and were good camping neighbours. The staff were brilliant and friendly!

Disliked If I had to pick something it would be that the shop was closed quite early. But there are supermarkets not too far away, however, the wee shop being open a wee bit later would be great!

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked Good stay, beautiful site!
I stayed on a tent pitch for a night with my family. The email instructions were clear. Since I was checking in late, I had to email them my license plate in advance. There is also an on-site shop with reasonably priced supplies if you forget anything.
The campsite is beautiful, clean, there is one more toilet block on the tent pitch so was very convenient. It took a little time to find our spot at first, and it will definitely be busy in summer!
The female shower was great, the hot water lasted perfectly throughout my whole shower, and each cubicle has a partition for dry/wet separation.

Disliked My family noticed only a few cubicles in the men's side had hot water, and the drainage is a bit slow when crowded.

Wee Brave wigwam (no pets)

Liked Cabin was clean with everything you need and tv was a bonus so I could watch the World Cup. Other guests were friendly really great atmosphere. Good value for money. Easy check in and out with key box.

Disliked Not clear which water is drinking water so could have signs above sinks saying this is not drinking water.
