  • Small dog-friendly site the banks of the river Severn
  • Adjacent to the Severn Way and half an hour’s walk from the canal
  • Wildlife haven within walking distance of pubs and Frampton on Severn
Craving a peaceful time filled with wildlife watching, long walks and relaxing by the water? On the banks of the River Severn and part of a working family farm with lots of livestock, Baldwin’s Brook Glamping in Gloucestershire fits the bill. This small site is a wildlife haven adjacent to the Severn Way, a long-distance trail that traces the river downstream. Birdwatching prospects are excellent here, and there’s plenty of peace if you’d rather sit and relax by a firepit or check out the stunning views and sunsets. From the farm, it’s a 45-minute walk to Frampton on Severn, which is home to the longest village green in England and the lively Frampton Country Fair (think funfair… and 400 stalls full of good stuff). Baldwin’s Brook Glamping is also half an hour’s walk away from the Cotswold Canal Trust Visitor Centre by the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal if you’d like to take a boat trip or sip a coffee by the canal. When you'd rather have a chilled beer, two pubs are within half a mile of the site (only 10 minutes’ walk away). Strike up a conversation with a local about the next Severn Bore, the huge tidal wave that races for 25 miles from Awre to Gloucester down the estuary just a handful of times per year. If you feel you haven’t done quite enough walking yet, the 102-mile Cotswold Way can be tracked down about 15 to 20 minutes’ drive away from the site; it passes by Berkeley Castle, which is otherwise a 20-minute drive away.

What customers say

This small, peaceful site has level, full hookup sites with river views. Owners are friendly, with guests loving the quiet atmosphere for a relaxing getaway. Fire pits/logs available. Pubs are walkable, but roadside access without sidewalks is a bit concerning. No on-site restrooms. Many want to return.

FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Spacious pitch with water drainage and electricity. Only three pitches and 2 pods on this tiny farm campsite. It is on the banks of the river Severn so lovely views and walks. I expect it is lovely in the summer months. There are two pubs within 10 minute walk. One in one direction the other in the opposite both with beer gardens. The ship is more of a foody pub apparently the food is really good but we did not visit it this time as we only stayed for one night. The Anchor is more of a locals pub with sports TV and pub grub. The locals are friendly. Well situated but need transport as no bus service to speak of.

FHU gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Everything! We always do a lot of research before booking our sites and this site certainly ticked all our boxes. Low key, great location, minimal road noise, a great place to just chill and a lovely friendly greeting from James, the owner, when we arrived with our caravan.
We had glorious weather for 5 days end of December albeit a bit chilly but a fab base to walk and cycle from. Loved being on the estuary and cycling along the tow paths, beautiful views/scenery. Only used the car one day to go to Gloucester Quays for some retail therapy and then a lovely walk in the Forest of Dean. WiFi not great, reliant on 4G but we knew this before we went, just meant a trip to the local or a cafe to use their's 😉

Disliked Only that we didn't have more time there, so a trip back another time hopefully!
