Craving a peaceful time filled with wildlife watching, long walks and relaxing by the water? On the banks of the River Severn and part of a working family farm with lots of livestock, Baldwin’s Brook Glamping in Gloucestershire fits the bill. This small site is a wildlife haven adjacent to the Severn Way, a long-distance trail that traces the river downstream. Birdwatching prospects are excellent here, and there’s plenty of peace if you’d rather sit and relax by a firepit or check out the stunning views and sunsets. From the farm, it’s a 45-minute walk to Frampton on Severn, which is home to the longest village green in England and the lively Frampton Country Fair (think funfair… and 400 stalls full of good stuff). Baldwin’s Brook Glamping is also half an hour’s walk away from the Cotswold Canal Trust Visitor Centre by the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal if you’d like to take a boat trip or sip a coffee by the canal. When you'd rather have a chilled beer, two pubs are within half a mile of the site (only 10 minutes’ walk away). Strike up a conversation with a local about the next Severn Bore, the huge tidal wave that races for 25 miles from Awre to Gloucester down the estuary just a handful of times per year. If you feel you haven’t done quite enough walking yet, the 102-mile Cotswold Way can be tracked down about 15 to 20 minutes’ drive away from the site; it passes by Berkeley Castle, which is otherwise a 20-minute drive away.

喜欢 Location and views of the river. Quiet because only five pitches.
Good for dogs.

不喜欢 It is close to a surprisingly busy road - motor bikes and cars at night , and you can hear the m5.

喜欢 Really lovely site, only a couple of pitches, and no shower block but that didn't affect us in the caravan. Great location, and lovely hosts. We will definitely be back again!

喜欢 Loved this place- perfect for motorhomes or caravans with own facilities looking for an overnight stop. Peaceful, small and everything you need on your own pitch.

不喜欢 Would of been nice to be able to walk beside the river but it was gated off.

喜欢 Lovely peaceful site, great sunrises and sunsets, and views of the River Severn and beyond. James and Poppy who run it are very friendly and helpful.

Great walks along the Severn Way from both nearby pubs (2min drive or 10-15min walk to each) and easy to reach much of the Cotswolds scenery by car from site.

No shower or toilet facilities (as advertised) but what you do get is a generously sized fully serviced pitch.

喜欢 The perfect little campsite in a lovely location. very close to the Severn walk way which is just down the road. Two pubs in walking distance also. Drinking water on pitch with bins & toilet empty by the gate.
A very quiet & peaceful site which is purfect.
The owners James & Poppy were friendly & helpful.

Cheltenham (half an hour’s drive) hosts the Cheltenham races, but its Regency architecture, museums and Victorian Everyman Theatre make it a great stop even when there's no racing on. Gloucester (20 minutes) also has some fantastic spots, from the 11th-century cathedral to the historic Gloucester docks. If you’re not finished wildlife watching, keep your eyes peeled for kingfishers and oystercatchers at WWT Slimbridge (20 minutes) or head to Birdland Park & Gardens (50 minutes). For families, Cattle Country Farm Park (20 minutes) is a local farm park with family-friendly attractions like play barns, a boating lake, a farmyard and miniature golf. Head north to get to the Forest of Dean (45 minutes) for stunning walks and bicycle trails, as well as other attractions like the underground museum at the Clearwell Caves (55 minutes) and the Puzzlewood (55 minutes) attraction. For yet more stunning scenery, Westonbirt, The National Arboretum (half an hour) has plant species from all around the world.
