What customers say
This tidy campground offers lovely views and a quiet vibe for a relaxing escape. Guests rave about the clean, well-equipped facilities, including spotless restrooms and showers. Spacious spots, welcoming owners, and nearby attractions like Bakewell are big pluses. Minor gripes included some road noise and limited dishwashing areas, but most visitors loved it and want to come back.

Everything! What a lovely little find…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Everything!
What a lovely little find - beautiful campsite, great pitches, great facilities, toilets, showers and pot wash station all fab and very clean.
Loved all the little touches and information.
The campsite goats and sheep’s were my kiddos hightlights in the mornings. The surrounding animals were just lovely to see too.
Owner was so lovely as she came round and hired a fire pit. We had a trip to Bakewell which was 10 minutes away and drove up to The Barrell Inn which was special too! (Spotted out tent from all the way up there!!)
Overall cannot complain one bit and we can’t wait to come back!

Brilliant site & location, excellent facilities & a relaxed atmosphere
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Loved our time at this campsite; probably the best campsite we have stayed at.
Visited 25-28th Aug 2025 at the end of summer hols, as a couple with two children aged 8 and 10 and a dog.
This campsite was clean, well thought out, well equipped and well maintained.
The fields were large and spacious and you choose where you pitch.
The campsite wasn’t that busy at this time so we had plenty of space to pitch, and around us, which meant the kids could play across the fields by our pitch.
The views from the site were amazing, and the location itself is great for visiting Mam Tor, Kinder Scout, Slippery Stones, Tideswell and Castleton.
Plenty of facilities - we were never waiting for a shower / toilet; there are male and female toilets with x3 toilets in each, plus x3 unisex self contained toilets with sinks, and x7 showers.
Toilets even contained complimentary sanitary products and air freshener in each which was a nice touch.
Very good pot wash station.
There was also a cabin with charging points, a full length mirror, which was a big plus for me, as it meant I could wash and dry my hair!
Cabin also contained a handy fridge freezer for milk / ice blocks.
Overall a relaxed atmosphere, and everyone was respectful, no late noise etc.
Really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.
Disliked The only small negative is that on one of the evenings there was no hot water for a warm shower, but it was fine the following evening.
Otherwise nothing to dislike!

The campsite is spacious with toilets and pot wash areas well stocked
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The space of the pot wash area was really good. Washing up liquid was supplied and dish racks and buckets were available too. The toilets were well stocked with hand towels, toilet roll and handwash and never ran out. Customer service was excellent - phonecalls with my queries were answered promptly.
Disliked Personally I wasn’t keen on the porta-cabin style showers and the water was too lukewarm for my liking.

Perfect Location, Owners were very friendly,…
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Perfect Location, Owners were very friendly, and the ratio of pitches to toilets/facilities was great, never waiting long to use the toilet or shower, both of which were very clean. Local Pub and Cafe within a ten minute walk. I would definitely recommend.

Well maintained site friendly staff . Would definitely recommend. Well lite at night but not too much . Fabulous scenery too surrounded by cows in field behind us and sheep in top field .

Really nice family friendly, clean with excellent facilities.
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked Facilities were clean and well maintained. Also not too far to walk to reach the facilities. Clean fields with plenty of space.
Disliked It might have been nice to have lighting in the field itself but not really necessary if you have a torch.
