What customers say
Beautiful, basic campsite with stunning views, great for hikers. Direct access to Mam Tor, walkable to Castleton. Clean restrooms and friendly owner. Spacious pitches. Some noted a lack of showers and uneven ground; leveling blocks advised for RVs. Honesty box and peaceful vibe are hits.

Great campsite in an amazing location
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Great campsite at the foot of Mam Tor, booked for one night. Kate was very friendly and helpful. Toilets were great, plenty of bins for rubbish, sink for washing up with washing up liquid and drinking water.

Stunning views, clean and dog-friendly
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Amazing value for money. Easy and friendly check in. Stunning views and surroundings. Toilets very clean and never had to queue, despite the site being quite busy. Loved the honesty box, where we bought emergency snacks in the evening! Our dog was also with us - need to stay on leads due to being a working farm but she was more than happy to be able to sniff around our campervan and see the cows from afar! Water bowl also available near the toilets if needed as well as a dog waste bin.
Disliked Nothing really! The road out of Castleton and into the site was very narrow and busy with walkers but worth it for the site itself!

Ill be going back, simple, effective and not badly priced
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked It's a very basic site... literally a field divided by a line of trees surrounded by more fields.
But i knew this when I booked it the porta loos aren't your typical building site ones, they're clean with porcelain toilets and sink, theres a sink near the toilets for pot washing, a few picnic benches.
The views are incredible and its perfectly located to walk into Castleon, or walk Mam Tor, and even when busy there was plenty of space.
If you are using a roof tent or van make sure you have levelling ramps as there are next to no level areas.
Disliked There are 4 toilets to serve a VERY large site, there were easily over 100 groups. So you can end up queuing, same with washing facilities there is literally one sink.
