Lovely campsite, felt secure especially that the owner visits.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Friendly host
Clean field
Fair location if you want isolation from Castleton and quiet, scenic views
Free roaming sheep
Disliked Lack of drinking water (yes it is listed but it can be an inconvenience and would be a nice touch)
No showers, there’s a water tap but from the review I think many would rather a shower than the tap. Likely to be inclined to stay longer if there was a shower facility.
Lack of water pressure in the toilet so could not be flushed or hands couldn’t be washed at times. The toilets are porta-loos.
Smaller field than anticipated from images.
Not all even ground so get to the site early especially if fully booked.

Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Very picturesque setting. Surrounded by hills and mountains, very peaceful and quiet apart from the occasional sheep calling which adds to the experience. Lady owner was very friendly and made periodic checks around the fields. Toilets were clean and adequate. We will be back!

Liked Lovely and quiet place the views are amazing! We Loved that you wasn’t all cramped into a little field plenty of space We will definitely be returning 😊
Rural campsite with absolutely stunning scenery.
Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked Rural campsite without the regimented frills. Grass was in good condition. Some parts of the field have quite a slope, but plenty of room elsewhere.
The views are spectacular.
Toilets are newish and in good condition. About 20 mins walk to main village.
Disliked Only having 4 unisex toilets (cold water only) can make it busy as site was popular.
