This simple campground offers gorgeous views and a great spot to explore Mam Tor and Castleton, with amenities nearby. Campers loved the friendly owners and clean washrooms. While there's lots of space, some mention uneven ground and occasional noise. No showers.

Overall the site was very well maintained and in a great location.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked The owner was lovely, the toilets were kept clean and tidy. There were two honesty boxes that were full of goodies.
The view was amazing too, easy access to mam tor from the campsite and a short 15 minute drive to ladybower. The campsite was also pretty easy to find as well. 25 minute walk to castleton center as well, plenty of pubs and food.
Wasn’t particularly busy but I think that’s due to the bad weather, the site is big anyway and plenty of flat spaces to pitch up.
Me and my partner would 100% stay at this campsite again, hopefully it won’t rain next time.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Fabulous location.
Clean toilets & spacious pitches
Nice touch of a well stocked honesty cupboard
Disliked The site was busy (a Saturday night) so queuing for the toilets.
Only one wash up sink, which people were using for brushing teeth.

Primitive grass campervan campsite
Liked The location is brilliant. You can walk easily up to the ridge. And you can see Mam Tor from your breakfast table. The whole field is covered in lush grass and you can set up wherever, there are no designated pitches.
There are only 4 unisex toilets though, so there is often a queue and there are no showers at all. There is one narrow single road leading to the site but if you time it right, you might be lucky not to have anyone coming the other way.
It is a great place for an overnight stop but the lack of showers might be an issue after a couple of days.
