Great position as we were walking. The toilet block could be better.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked: Beautiful countryside all around. Well maintained field. Plenty of space when we were there. Facilities clean. Near to some lovely pubs with good food. Variety of farm animals including two very cute ostriches!
Disliked: Being woken very early by an enthusiastic cockerel - but then we were on a farm!

Liked: Site is well laid out with plenty of space between pitches. Grass is well maintained and Lovely views. 10-15 minute drive to pubs. Far enough from the main roads to be quiet. Lots of animals on site.
Disliked: Toilets were dirty and shower was cold. Only 1 shower for the full site with lots of campers.
Would be a 5 star if facilities are improved

Liked: Nice position. Easy to get to and many walks nearby. Pitch sizes good. Electric hookup and drinking water behind each pitch.
Disliked: Facilities are quite subpar. Only one shower for the whole site and 3 toilets. Small campsite but still feel as though there could be more, especially if it was busier. Cleanliness wasn’t great either in the facilities and was missing toilet paper a few times. No hot water for washing dishes either.

Liked: We had a lovely stay at this peaceful and friendly campsite. It was such a relaxing spot, surrounded by nature and even some lovely farm animals we could visit, which added a nice touch to the stay.
The site is very dog friendly, which was a big plus for us. We stayed in a tent pitch that had access to electric hook up, and it was really convenient having a water tap right next to every pitch.
Facilities were basic but clean and perfectly adequate showers were decent and toilets well maintained.
Location wise, it was ideal. It felt nice and tucked away, yet we were no more than a 15 minute drive from great places like Buxton, Bakewell, and the Monsal Trail.
Would definitely recommend if you’re after a quiet countryside break with easy access to explore the Peak District!
