For peaceful times in the Peak District National Park take a look at Longfield Farm, a small and friendly site surrounded by Derbyshire countryside. A 10-minute drive from the spa town of Buxton and the medieval town of Bakewell, the pitches here are well situated for all sorts of alfresco activities. In the surrounding Peak District, guests can pull on their walking boots and get stuck into several good hikes along the likes of the Tissington Trail and the Monsal Trail, each within a 25-minute drive. Dogs should find plenty to sniff out on countryside walks too, and cyclists can make use of the area's many dirt paths. For other outdoor activities to get the heart racing, there's kayaking, windsurfing and fly fishing 30 minutes away at Carsington Water, including taster sessions for first-timers. After all this, put your feet up at one of the local country pubs. Handily, there are several within a five-minute drive, including one with a large playground to let the kids blow off some steam while you nurse a well-deserved pint. This is a simple site with basic facilities only, but you’ll have access to water points, three toilets and a shower. If you don’t fancy a bite to eat from one of the local pubs, you're welcome to light up your own barbecue instead. Both Buxton and Bakewell have a good selection of supermarkets, or you can head to one of several local farm shops for meat and extras to put on the grill.

  • Minderjarigen (18-) dienen te worden vergezeld door een ouder en/of officiële voogd.
  • Honden moeten getatoeëerd of gechipt zijn.
  • Op deze camping zijn hondenrassen/kruisingen die in de 'lijst met hoog-risico honden op agressief gedrag' zijn opgenomen, niet toegestaan. Denk aan de pitbullterriër en tosa, Argentijnse dog en fila brasileiro.
  • Het wordt gasten geadviseerd om een zaklantaarn van goede kwaliteit mee te nemen, omdat delen van het terrein onverlicht zijn.
  • Houd er rekening mee dat de toiletten/douches uniseks zijn.

Ik was blij met The pitch size was excellent.
The 12:00 leave by time was nice, could take our time and relax a little in the morning.

Ik was niet blij met The toilet and washing facilities left a lot to be desired. There weren't enough of them, they were very unclean and had ran out of toilet paper and still hadn't been replenished they next day.
No shops due to location.

Maybe we had a toilet paper thief on site.
The facilities are basic as stated when booking. Unfortunately we can’t meet everyone’s expectations.

Ik was blij met Being on a real working farm, toilet block was nearby, the grass was nice and cut, the freedom to pitch where ever was nice.

It was peaceful and quiet, with great views. Enjoyed seeing the menagere…

Ik was blij met It was peaceful and quiet, with great views. Enjoyed seeing the menagere of various animals in nearby fields.
This site will be great for those needing to stay away from fireworks.

Ik was niet blij met Only one toilet and shower so facilities are under pressure during busy times.

Ik was blij met Plenty of space, clean little toilet with cold and hot water, farm with ostriches (!!) and pigs and cows which were really sweet and cool to observe. The owners are very nice as well.

Ik was niet blij met Nothing really - it can be a little hard to find though, as google maps leads to the main road only, but not to the farm itself.

Ik was blij met Countryside views & tidy pitch

Ik was niet blij met V. basic container building for facilities with chained metal door that banged in the wind.
Not enough facilities for site- 1 toilet & 1 toilet/ shower
Bins overflowing with rubbish & 2 big holes in the ground nr bins.
Extra toilet labelled for toilet waste emptying & nowhere labelled for waste water disposal.
No hot water for washing up.

Highly recommend despite the one shower

Ik was blij met Perfect quiet farm location midway between Bakewell and Buxton. Clean loos and shower, decent size pitches and helpful owner

Ik was niet blij met One shower is not enough. 15 pitches were taken so it was not easy to take a shower in the morning

Routebeschrijving

The entrance to the site is on Flagg Lane (not The Jarnett). There is a signpost opposite the turning for Long Field Farm and Lane End Farm Trust. Look out for the fixed sheep pens at the top of the track, then follow the lane down to the site entrance on the right and look for your numbered pitch. If you type Lane End Farm Trust into your sat nav that should take you to the campsite.

If your walking boots are a camping essential, take them over to the Tissington Trail for a fine 13-mile route through the Derbyshire countryside. The route commences a 25-minute drive away in Ashbourne. For a shorter trail, the Monsal Trail is 15 minutes away – it's easier on the feet with a less demanding 8.5-mile route. For adrenaline seekers, Carsington Water is half an hour’s drive away. Here, you can hire kayaking kit or try out windsurfing if you're feeling extra ambitious. If watersports aren't your strong suit, their taster sessions will help to ease you in to the relevant techniques. For other activities that will raise your heart rate, there’s an outdoor pool in Hathersage 25 minutes away and several indoor pools within a 25-minute drive. Further afield, take a whirl on the rollercoasters at Alton Towers, a 40-minute drive away and with plenty to fill a full day. At Matlock Farm Park (30 minutes), a collection of cute animals should keep kids entertained; they can give horse riding a go too or gently feed the lambs if they're seeking some quieter time.
