What customers say
This is a basic, friendly campsite in a great Peak District location, praised for its peaceful atmosphere, lovely views, and proximity to pubs and walking routes. Pitches are generally good, and owners are often described as helpful and accommodating. While many found the facilities adequate for the price, some reviewers noted issues with cleanliness and maintenance, particularly in the toilet and shower blocks, and a few encountered problems with on-site accommodation.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The campsite was very quiet, which made for a peaceful stay – perfect for getting some rest without too much noise or disruption. At just £10 a night, it was definitely good value for money and ideal for a simple trip. It had the basics you need and was easy to access, which made it convenient overall.
Disliked The site itself was quite small, which meant we were pitched very close to another tent, however it’s decent for a short, budget-friendly trip.

Brilliant site, 1st time camper and this was a nice welcome to camping
Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked The chilled nature of the campsite
Working toilets, shower and dishwashing facilities
The location and how accessible Buxton and Bakewell are.
Camp owner seemed friendly enough, welcomed us to the site and left us to it - exactly the kind of environment I wanted.
Fellow campers were friendly too
The donkeys are a welcome site to see in the morning too!
Disliked Sure, the showers and toilets were a little muddy, but it is a campsite with hikers using it so it is to be expected, that being said, maybe a freshen up each day wouldn't go amiss - just a quick wipe down and mop would do the trick!
