What customers say
This campsite gets rave reviews for friendly staff, clean facilities, and a lovely woodland setting. Guests loved the peaceful vibe, spacious sites, and proximity to pubs & attractions. The playground is a hit. Minor gripes included pitch leveling, occasional mud, and facility distance. Improvements are underway, though some upkeep is still needed.

A lovely break away
Woodland Premium lodge (hot tub, pet friendly)
Liked This was a really lovely stay. The lodge was just perfect with ample space for a family of 5 that includes 2 teenage boys. When we arrived everything was lovely and clean and the hot tub was ready to go.
The lodge has everything you need, including bedding and towels so that made packing easier.
Lovely sized bathroom and a very lovely shower. Literally can’t fault the lodge at all.
We had the very last lodge and it was very private from all of the others.
Reception were really lovely and check in was quick and speedy.
If you plan on having a fire then you must purchase some colourful powder from reception that changes the flame colour. It made our fire magical.
The location of the sight is perfect to explore gorgeous places such as Matlock and Bakewell.
Disliked The only grumble we had was the main road next to the lodges. It wasn’t quite as peaceful as we’d of liked but you got used to it eventually.

WOULD STAY AGAIN
FHU cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite
Liked MANAGEMENT WERE VERY FRIENDLY, PEACEFUL, QUITE. TOILET AND SHOWER FACILITIES WERE VERY CLEAN AND VERY WELL LOOKED AFTER.
Disliked A SHOP WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE, BUT I DO UNDERSTAND THAT FOR A SMALL SITE THIS WOULD NEED TO BE MANNED AT ALL TIMES SO WOULD PROVE DIFFICULT, THERE ARE SHOPS (CO-OP) CLOSE BY.

Very clean site, toilets and showers very good! Friendly staff
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Had a 2 night stay at Riddings Wood on the none electric field. As the first night was Saturday there was a lot of children on the field, but was quite shocked that by 10 o'clock the children all disappeared back to their tents and it was very quiet.Found it very peaceful and relaxing there! The Manager came round on both nights checking we had no problems which we thought was very good.
Disliked The none electric field was right at the back of the campsite so was quite a way to carry our water butts being in our late 60's.

Liked The toilet and shower facilities were very nice, always clean and well stocked and the shower was the perfect temperature.
There were 2 pubs just a 5 minute walk away.
The local chinese takeaway was amazing.
Disliked The pitch was quite a way from the shower block because it is a very large sight.
Our pitch was on a slope so not ideal.
