  • Secure, quiet and well-maintained site two miles from Leighton Buzzard
  • Whipsnade Zoo and Bletchley Park within a 15-minute drive
  • On the banks of Grand Union Canal a short walk from the local pub
Fancy settling your caravan in a strategic location that will give you easy access to all sorts of attractions and activities? Take a pitch at Grove Lock Caravan Park, a spacious and well-maintained Bedfordshire site two miles outside of Leighton Buzzard. There’s a lengthy list of things to see and do in this area, so it’s certainly a place where you could easily spend several days without any danger of running out of entertainment. For starters, you might like to try Whipsnade Zoo, Bletchley Park, Woburn Safari Park and Milton Keynes’ Snozone skiing facility – or perhaps head out for walks in the likes of Rushmere Country Park or on the Dunstable Downs? And of course there’s also the option of boarding a train for a day touring the sights of London (an hour away by train). The immediate surroundings are rather lovely here too – the site is right on the banks of the Grand Union Canal for easy waterside wanders, and a very short stroll from the local pub too (how handy). Everything on site has been well thought out to provide the best experience for guests – pitches are large and well spaced, with access to electricity and water plus a well-kept toilet and shower block. Kids and dogs are welcome on site, so feel free to bring along the whole family.

What customers say

A charming canal-side spot with spacious sites and helpful staff. Facilities are generally clean, with private shower/toilet rooms. Grove Lock pub next door gets high marks. While many love the peaceful location and marina views, some note road/rail noise and minor upkeep needs.

Liked The whole site was very well laid out and very clean. Several reviews mentioned the noise from the railway but to be honest I never heard them during the night.

Disliked Nothing to do with the site but we had food at the pub, was not impressed with the BBQ wings, I have never had battered wings before, not for me but as I said this was the only thing I didn't like and it was nothing to do with the site.

Liked Site was simple and campers were well spaced for privacy. Good access to pub next door and for a walk along the canal. There’s a lakeside park about a mile away which we’d have explored more but it was close to 30 degrees so too hot for a dog. Shop is small but staff were helpful. We needed gas when away and they had what we needed. Toilets and showers were clean and tidy.

Disliked We were on a pitch that backed onto a b-road. This was busy all night. Other pitches would have been quieter though.

Difficult to find. Ended up in pub car park but soon rectified. Saw an RV do the same and it was much more difficult for them to correct it!

Wi-Fi was weak at the extremities of the field.

Liked I moved here from another local site that got too noisy and it was great move. The touring pitches are around a big open field, very spacious, although I would have liked a bit of physical separation between the pitches (a small hedge or something). I was pitch 15 which backs onto the road, with a fair bit of noise, but it was quiet overnight.
Toilets were individual shower rooms with loo, basin and shower in each one. Very spacious and clean.
Excellent pub right next door, the Grove Lock, I was solo with my dog and enjoyed a pint and good fish & chips there.
Receptionist very friendly.
Location by the canal is lovely.

Liked Peaceful and enjoyable stay at a very well maintained site. Situated within easy reach of all major roads in the area.

Excellent facilities, very clean shower block along with a large popular pub (with food) available next door.

Site management were excellent - very efficient, always smiling and even willing to go above and beyond to make the stay of their guests perfect.

I will be returning (I’ve already booked).

Thank you

Liked Big pitches, very friendly staff.

Good value for money, cheap laundry costs making our stop over good.

Disliked Pub next to site isn’t the cheapest but that’s nothing to do with the site.

And maybe a northern thing lol

Liked Amazing location right on the canal with access to the canal where you can hop across the lock for a walk for miles and miles, great to sit by the reception looking across the marina.
Staff are very helpful and polite and although we arrived later than the 5pm check in time due to traffic they were very helpful and left the keys for us.
Huge pitches with plenty of space for caravan, awnings and cars with good ground for awning pegs, we did require a ramp on one side to level the caravan but this wasnt a problem.

Very well kept, private facilities including showers without the silly timers! toilets and wash areas. Everything we needed was on site including water, drainage, waste and rubbish disposal.

There is noise from the nearby railway line and roads but it quickly becomes white noise and didnt effect our stay in the slightest.

Very comfortable, peaceful site with good views and a pub just a 2 minute walk away where we went and had food and sat along the canal.

We stayed here as part of our party were going to the F1 at silverstone but we Would definitely stay here again

Disliked Not so much disliked but -
The grass was a bit of a nuisance as it had been cut so there was loose dead grass on the field which kept getting into our caravan even with shoes off!
Only one water point/hookup between 3 pitches (of where we were) so we did have to buy a splitter from the nearby screwfix for mine and our other parties vans but the water kept getting disconnected by the person next to us!

Liked Water and electric on a post. Large pitches. No rules!! Pub near by. Would have liked to walk along the canal but the crossing wasn’t easy certainly not for elderly or dogs that are tricky.

Disliked Haphazard due to no rules or guidance! Pitches not marked out so everyone was pitching differently. No grey waste disposal. We were on pitch 14, the road and railway noise was extremely load. Not a quiet relaxing time. We had trouble having a conversation. Toilet and shower would have been nice if clean, sanitary box was overflowing and cobwebs were everywhere.

Liked We were meant to stay here for two nights but we had to leave early to meet with family in another location. The site was really nice. The staff were friendly and there is a pub right next door. Couldn’t fault it. Although to find it you need to head towards those shit gates. We drove to the pub because we thought it was private residence. Don’t make the same mistake as it is hell trying to turn around in the pub car park.
