  • Whipsnade Zoo and Bletchley Park within a 15-minute drive
  • On the banks of Grand Union Canal a short walk from the local pub
Fancy settling your caravan in a strategic location that will give you easy access to all sorts of attractions and activities? Take a pitch at Grove Lock Caravan Park, a spacious and well-maintained Bedfordshire site two miles outside of Leighton Buzzard. There’s a lengthy list of things to see and do in this area, so it’s certainly a place where you could easily spend several days without any danger of running out of entertainment. For starters, you might like to try Whipsnade Zoo, Bletchley Park, Woburn Safari Park and Milton Keynes’ Snozone skiing facility – or perhaps head out for walks in the likes of Rushmere Country Park or on the Dunstable Downs? And of course there’s also the option of boarding a train for a day touring the sights of London (an hour away by train). The immediate surroundings are rather lovely here too – the site is right on the banks of the Grand Union Canal for easy waterside wanders, and a very short stroll from the local pub too (how handy). Everything on site has been well thought out to provide the best experience for guests – pitches are large and well spaced, with access to electricity and water plus a well-kept toilet and shower block. Kids and dogs are welcome on site, so feel free to bring along the whole family.

Liked: Lovely location and great facilities. Stayed here one night to visit Bletchley Park and Whipsnade Zoo. Perfect location for both. Good number of very clean showers and toilets, and water on every pitch. Woukd definately stay here again. Enjoyed walking along the canal and seeing the boats, and the pub close by was nice for a drink and to watch the canal. Didn't eat there but the menu looked nice.

Liked: The canal nearby was nice and across to the pub. Check in was easy and access to the towpath gate was given

Disliked: The site is next to a very busy road, traffic was loud through the day and night. Bathrooms were very cold with an open roof space across all stalls. The elson point was a long distance away from the pitches, making it a challenge to carry casettes across the park on rocky paths.

Powered gravel travel trailer campsite

Liked: Low-key campsite by Grand Union Canal. Facilities with ample hot water, clean (despite very wet campsite grounds due to inclement weather).

Disliked: Not really a dislike as such but be aware that the mainline railway and freight line is close enough to be heard from the campsite pitches; as is the neighbouring B488 which has a junction with the A4146. Road & train traffic noise decreases substantially after evening rush-hour (road) and later in the evening (train) and didn't disturb us. Lighter sleepers may want to bring ear-plugs but be reassured if you arrive between 4pm to 6pm that the apparently 'noisy' environment will substantially quieten down for the evening.

Liked: Quiet ( people wise) camp site, great space for children and the dog to run around in. Nice big showers that were hot. Nice walk to the pub ( which did amazing food)

Disliked: A bit noisy by the road and railway line during the day, but was pretty quiet during the night
