Liked Lovely site surrounded by nature. Staff were very friendly and facilities are extremely clean and well looked after. So nice to have the woods behind to walk the dogs in. A short walk along the road brings you to a pub with a Chinese takeaway next door, what's not to like!! There's also an Italian restaurant. We had a lovely peaceful stay and would visit again.

Unpowered grass site
Liked We parked in the fields, grass with no ECH, which was a really reasonable price and you could choose your own pitch which was good. The site was very busy but still plenty of space and surrounded by nice views. There's a fresh bread and cake hut near reception. We got the bus into Llandudno which stops very frequently just on the main road near the site entrance. Theres plenty of toilets but as mentioned before they are not in the best condition but are functional, didn't use the showers, these are situated near reception. Very friendly staff.

Fully-serviced concrete slab motorhome site (hot tub)
Liked We stayed in our van with a hot tub. The hot tub was in a large shed with a dining table and wood burning stove. The hot tub was great , very hot and lots of space in the shed and very private. Theres enough space for 2 vans so cost could be shared with 4 of you. We got takeout food from the bar and had a pint. Site was very quiet. Staff really friendly and shower was very hot.
Disliked Got some logs for the wood burner as the shed was very cold. £20 is a bit over priced when you're only going to use a few. Only one shower with a keypad and also keys to unlock the toilet.

Liked Great campsite, really good price for one night £22 on grass with no ECH. There's a bar on site with great views over the lake. We walked the trail around the lake with the dogs, took about an hour and a half , was a great trail. Showers like wet rooms, lots of room and nice and hot. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Disliked Bar was very busy, minimal staff, had to queue for a beer for about 20 minutes, went back to get another but queue even longer so didn't bother.

Liked Great elevated campsite with lovely views all around. Pitch was level and a good size. Toilet and shower block wasn't quite finished off but all functional and showers nice and hot. Lots of green space for dogs and having a pub right next door is always a bonus. We drove to the nearby reservoir and had a good walk there. Fantastic price and very friendly staff .

Liked Nice small site, level pitches with plenty of grass for dogs to enjoy, very peaceful. There's a path from the site through the wood directly to the lake which is about an hour's walk round if you go via the old railway line. It's signed on the site and it's a great walk, we had company of lots of low flying jets on our morning walk. Showers were nice and warm, all the facilities you need are on the site.
We weren't allocated a pitch so just parked up when we arrived.

Liked This is a nice clean quiet small site about 20 minutes drive to york. There's plenty of green space to walk the dogs and we were also sent a map of local walks by the owner. The bathroom facilities are ten out of ten, amazing large shower and toilet rooms. All the other facilities you need are also provided.

Liked Great size level pitches with plenty of green space for dogs. I received a message before arrival and name was on the board to allocate pitch number, we are fine with no reception, we actually like to just come and park up. Shower block is in need of an update but saying that the shower was great, lots of room for changing, lovely hot water and a proper turn on shower, no pushing buttons for more water. It was lovely and peaceful at night, we were going to walk to the abbey but arrived too late so walked to the pub instead which is very close.

Liked Great site with loads of walks around it, a huge dog walking field and other walks sign posted around the site. The pitches are flat and well spaced out. Showers and toilet block very clean and warm. No reception on site so we asked someone and they said to just choose a pitch and it would be fine. It was surprisingly busy for October but was so quiet during the night. We would definitely use this site again.

Liked This is such a beautiful spot to stay in. Surrounded by amazing views and very peaceful. The pitches are a great size and flat with lots of surrounding grass for fur legged friends. The toilet and shower block are very clean and plenty of them.
We walked down the very steep steps at the bottom of the fields into Lathkill Dale, swing a left and walk along the bottom until you get to a path near the old mill stones and it brings you back to camp, takes about an hour, if you dont fancy the big 3 hour walk. The owners were very friendly, we would definitely stay here again.

Liked The staff were very friendly, showers nice and hot, food in bar was good. Shop on site.
Disliked We were put on probably the WORST pitch ever for £35. It was like we'd been put in the naughty corner of a car park that smelt of drains in the darkness. No outside grass to put chairs on or any kind of pitch separation just 4 vehicles on gravel next to the toilets!!! There were plenty of empty pitches on site that had nice grass next to them that were up in the sunshine. Should have asked to move but we were only staying one night, but most disappointed I've ever been as regards value for money!!

From the manager: Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re pleased to hear you found our team friendly, enjoyed the hot showers, food, and on-site shop. We’re very sorry, however, that the pitch you were allocated did not meet your expectations. This is certainly not the experience we want our guests to have, and we regret that it left you feeling disappointed about value for money. We encourage guests to let us know during their stay if something isn’t right, as our team will always do their best to find a more suitable pitch where possible. We truly appreciate your comments, as they help us improve, and we hope you’ll consider giving us another chance to provide a better experience next time. Kind regards, Team Verdant

Liked Loved this park. It's got lots of space to walk which is great when you have 2 dogs. We stayed NYE and it was still lovely and quiet. The pub on site looked lovely however it was tickets only that night so we didn't go in. It's very easy to get to on the main route into Dumfries and Galloway with a view of the sea. Facilities are great, nice hot clean showers and toilets. Staff very friendly.
Slightly more than we usually pay to stay on a site but only stayed one night.

Liked Lovely quirky site set in the middle of nature. Choose your own pitch on grass so lots of space around you. The most elaborate toilets I've ever seen on a campsite . Very quiet night, lovely friendly staff to greet you. Very good value. Lots of green space for doggos.
Disliked We book sites after a few days of camping without facilities mainly for showers. I went for a shower early morning and the water was so hot I couldn't get in it. Luckily a lady warned me not to stand under it as she'd just tried. Washed hair in the van.

Liked Absolutely loved this little campsite. Was in a beautiful setting , very easy to get to. Nice big pitches , lovely and quiet. The facilities are basic but the showers were nice and hot. You can loan a firepit and buy some wood if you want to sit out at night. We actually like the fact you get your pitch number by text message and there's no reception check in. There's a number to ring if you have any problems. Lovely big dog walking field and a forest nearby if you want to walk further.

Liked This campsite is a little gem. We stayed on a non electric pitch that was off the main camping area. It was still close to the facilities and had an amazing view over all the fields. It was lovely and quiet and had a nice dog walking area in the field. The facilities are some of the best we've seen on a campsite. We ate at the local pub which was extremely good in the lovely little village nearby. I would advise to book if u want to go later it was getting very busy with bookings while we were there. Loved everything about this site, would highly recommend.
Disliked We did struggle with WiFi.

Liked This is a working farm in a very peaceful location, very friendly owners. Very clean and modern facilities. There's a good dog walking field but was too wet to use.
Disliked The pitches are situated on the edge of the track that leads up to the farm which felt a bit unusual. There's only one toilet/shower for the whole campsite, although it is a very small site. No visible walks near to the site.

From the manager: Thankyou for your review, we are a very small site with only 5 pitches in total, however we are hoping to have another toilet/shower on site in the near future. We have many walks close by which previous guests have enjoyed, we have many public footpaths in very easy reach of the farm, we provide lots of walking books on site for people to choose where they would like to go, hope we see you again in the future. Liked The views from the site are amazing. There's a ruined castle you can walk to and other walks along the cliffs. The facilities are modern and clean. We walked to the pub/restaurant 5 mins up the road, the food was good. Staff are friendly.
Disliked You are on a cliff expect it to be windy. We booked on a bank holiday weekend so it was very busy. Felt a bit like we were parked with two other vans in over flow car park. The pitch had no perimeters, we paid for electric but we were informed before we arrived they were having problems so we had a non electric pitch but not refunded the difference!!
