Classic Caravans in the New Forest

Geeky about caravans? Us too. So we’ll be heading to Hampshire soon to the Beaulieu National Motor Museum in the New Forest, which now has a permanent exhibition on the history of caravanning. There are caravans on display to walk inside, as well as film footage, photos and other bits and pieces showing how caravanning has changed over the last century or so. You can also make like James Bond and see the world’s biggest collection of Bond vehicles, or be a film nerd at the On Screen Cars exhibition, which has cars from film and TV sets including the flying Ford Anglia from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Whomping Willow to crash into probably not included.
There are plenty of places to stay nearby – try Riverside Holidays at Hamble which has electric pitches for tents, caravans and motorhomes, non-electric pitches for tents, as well as its Lowford Lodge with three bedrooms (minimum stay of seven nights). Or go for the family friendly Shamba Holidays at Ringwood, which has electric pitches for tourers, motorhomes and tents, and which is a David Bellamy Conservation Award Gold Winner.
