Liked The location is fantastic and the staff we spoke to were really nice and helpful.

Disliked The pod itself was seriously neglected. The lock on the door was not convincing - we kept having to put valuables in the car. The heater and TV didn't work. The single mattresses had springs sticking out and the double mattress had a slat missing.
The worst thing was the toilet block is so far away, which is crazy because surely it's only the pods that need to use them. The toilets blocked often and the showers weren't great either.
We were going to eat in the restaurant on the last night but there was a big private party with loud music until at least 11pm. We were glad to leave unfortunately, which is a shame because the Coldingham itself is an absolute gem and we would love to go back.

We apologise too that the private event affected your final evening. We appreciate that the noise and closure of the restaurant were disappointing, particularly when you had planned to dine with us.

Liked The price – unfortunately, that was the only positive thing about our stay.

Disliked The toilet facilities are far too far away from the accommodation. When we arrived, reception told us there were two toilets, one of which was locked at 9:30 pm. We never actually managed to find that one. The other toilet was a considerable distance away.
The showers, located in the same building as the toilets, were absolutely awful – dirty, unhygienic and covered in mould. They were definitely not somewhere you would feel comfortable showering.
The pod itself is very dated and in desperate need of refurbishment. The mattress was particularly bad – it looked so old and unpleasant that we barely wanted to touch it, let alone sleep on it.
We were also disappointed that the fish and chip shop closes at 5 pm, which seems extremely early, especially for people staying on site who may want an evening meal.

Overall, we are very glad that we booked this place for only four nights, and only did so because our preferred accommodation was unavailable for these particular dates.
Unfortunately, we definitely would not return and could not recommend this place to others. The low price simply does not make up for the poor facilities, cleanliness and overall condition of the accommodation.

Liked Clean site, good value for money and good entertainment. The chips from the onsite chippy were 10/10. Friendly staff. Great walks right on your doorstep.

Disliked Could be doing with a wee shop on site. However there is a spar a short walk away.
