  • Family park half a mile from Coldingham Sands beach and watersports
  • Within 5 minutes' drive of St Abbs and Eyemouth; an hour to Edinburgh
  • Kids' club, indoor golf, outdoor play, chippy, spa and bar and grill
Find your way to Scoutscroft Leisure Park for adventures at the seaside or the city: this well-placed park is an easy half a mile from spectacular and award-winning Coldingham Bay beach and just over an hour’s drive from the sights and shops of Edinburgh. There’s loads to do on site too (this is a firmly family-friendly park), including indoor miniature golf, a kids’ club, a snooker room and an outdoor play area. Food and drink is sorted for all tastes too at the fish and chip takeaway for quick bites (perhaps on the beach…?) and the Sands bar and grill for breakfasts, lunches, evening eats, snacks and a wide selection of bevvies ranging from soft drinks to cider. Drink up, then drink in the scenery: Scoutscroft is close to the Berwickshire coast and the Scottish Borders, handily placed for weekends away or longer hols exploring sandy beaches and nature reserves. To take the excitement up a notch, watersports including surfing, kayaking, diving and bodyboarding are easily sorted from the park; elsewhere, days out at local port town St Abbs and harbour town Eyemouth are within less than 10 minutes’ drive. These places are also where you can pick up provisions at supermarkets… or simply meander between the two on a coastal hike.

Camping pod (superior)

Liked The pods were great and the location was fantastic. Short walk to the beach as well as shorter drives to breath taking walks.

Disliked The showers were freezing with no hot water. Staff mentioned I go to a sister site to have a shower. Which would have been a good option if the showers there weren’t awful. Food prices at the bar were astoundingly high for the quality of the food. This is not exactly the sits fault but their chilled ambience was ruined by the state some ‘roundabout painter’ got himself in on the night, after he was kicking off and fighting locals in the bar he then proceeded to shout and wake up my sleeping 3 year old at 1am and puked all over the pod outdoor area and left bottles of vodka and cans lying around for us to find in the morning. Not really giving the family friendly vibe the place had when we arrived. We were lucky with the weather, if the weather was awful the trip could have been different. Debated booking again until the last night fiasco and the shower situation.

Liked Pods were without fault. Totally lived up to expectations and more as were very cosy.

Disliked No hot water. So we basically had no showers during our stay. Fortunately a relative lived close by so we got a shower on day 1 however we had to leave early on day 2 as we had to go home for a shower. Totally unacceptable.

Recommend to friends Visit again

From the manager: Thank you for your review. We're delighted you found the pods cosy and welcoming, but we're very sorry about the lack of hot water — this is far below the standard we aim to provide. Your feedback is important, and we’ll ensure this is urgently reviewed with the team.
