However many times you’ve seen it in pictures or videos, Durdle Door is one of those places that you really need to see for yourself. The huge stone arch on the Dorset coast is one of the UK’s most loved sights – whether you’re admiring it from the beach or swimming/kayaking around its base you’re sure to be wowed by its sheer size. You’ll easily be able to take in those spectacular views as many times as you like when you stay at Durdle Door Holiday Park. As the name suggests, this spacious family-friendly park is just a few minutes’ walk from the arch itself – and there are lots of other great Jurassic Coast sights within easy reach too. From this location (about a mile from the village of West Lulworth) the South West Coast Path links you up with other popular spots like Lulworth Cove, Stair Hole and Man O' War beach (none more than 45 minutes’ walk away). The coast path and many of the local beaches welcome dogs – and so does this park; they’re even allowed to join you in the bar and restaurant, making this an excellent base for those of you travelling with your beloved pets. Main meals, snacks, pizzas and kids’ meals are all on the menu here, along with a good range of hot and cold drinks. Other facilities at the park include a well-stocked shop (handy for your picnic bits and barbecue supplies), a launderette and a couple of excellent play areas – one suitable for toddlers, the other with more challenging adventures for slightly older kids.

After 6pm please check in to the Man O'War Restaurant

Rookery unpowered grass tent site

Appreciate the wild life, but for the money for the weekend the cabin windows haven't been cleaned for weeks also decking and glass screens

Blinds above door on way in were full of dead insects and dust ..

Had to call security at 11 : 15 sataurday pm due to people drinking after hours in pub garden 10mts from cabin keeping us awake.
People Not even staying on site ...

When approached wanted a fight ..

Couldn't be asked to complain and ruin the weekend but won't stay again...

Cottage in cove next time but that is my opinion...

Abbeyfield powered grass and gravel caravan site

Liked Excellent site. Really well kept pitches.
Location is great, right on the doorstep of Durdle Door.
Toilets and showers were clean and the washing up area was large with loads of info and a fridge/freezer and microwave.

Disliked Some of the pitches are very sloped and I’m not sure our chocs would be enough if we had been given one of them. Just worth considering

Liked Beautiful location. Amazing beaches you can walk to. Simple camp site with a good park for kids.

Disliked Showers could do with an upgrade but they were mostly hot and no queues.

Shepherd's hut

Liked Great location, easy access fresh water from anywhere. Was a decent stay.

Disliked The shower block is old and the water pressure barely there for most showers. When we had the power cut there was no back up power on site so had to stay most of the day without showers, food from the restaurant and shop.
Shepherds hut did not come with a fridge as stated on the site.

I am sorry that you had an issue with the showers, we experienced an unforeseen issue with the boilers which service the shower block, therefore affecting the water pressure at the time, I am sorry that this impacted your stay. With regard to the unplanned external power cut, we do not have a back up generator as this is not a viable solution for a park of our size. I do apologise for the impact the power cut had on your stay.

The fridge mentioned on the listing is the communal fridge in the pot was area, I have passed this concern to our account manager to review and state the fridge is not inside the Shepherd Hut.

Liked Location was fantastic, couldn't get any closer to adurdle door.

Disliked Power cut for many hours with no/vert little communication on the matter.
Caravan had not been cleaned properly on arrival condom (unused thankfully) packaging left in the bedroom and bathroom floor was still dirty.

You can hire canoes or join guided trips from Lulworth Cove (five minutes’ drive/half an hour’s walk) – there are also paddleboard outings and RIB rides to try out here. Rather stick to dry land? There are plenty of options for walks around here – popular routes take you from the park along the South West Coast Path to Fossil Forest (a favourite fossil-hunting spot), to the Scratchy Bottom cliffs or all the way to Ringstead Bay on a seven-mile hilly coastal trail. Look out for wildlife as you wander – especially the 32 species of butterfly that live around here. For family days out, take a look at the likes of Monkey World (15 minutes’ drive), The Tank Museum (15 minutes) and the steam-driven Swanage Railway (35 minutes). Corfe Castle (25 minutes) and Abbotsbury’s Swannery and Subtropical Gardens (45 minutes) might also be on your radar – or maybe the sandy beach in Weymouth (half an hour)?
