From the manager: Thank you very much for that lovely review, it was lovely to meet you.
Regarding the wifi, we do know that it can sometimes be a problem. We have made improvements, but unfortunately there are lots of different factors that can affect it. Atmospherics, the amount of people we have in, the trees and when the show ground have an event on, this causes us problems too The wifi is free for this reason. We are constantly looking at other ways to improve it.
We would love to see you both again. The Oak View Team Ruth and Rob. 😊

Liked: We stayed for 5 nights in a tent at the end of May. It was our first family camping.
The staff are very friendly. The communication before our arrival was super fast and helpful. The same after we arrived. We liked how peaceful and quiet it was. The showers, toilets and washing up areas were always clean. Warm water was alway available. There were no queues ever. We cooked on an electric stove and left our bottles of water for our cooler bag to freeze in the fridge in the office.
Local pub is lovely. We also recommend to visit Checkers Inn in Aylesford and check out their 'pie of the day'.
Thank you for the great stay Ruth and Rob!
Disliked: Our mobile network (Lycamobile) wasn't working well there. The Wifi was available only closer to the office and the connection wasn't very stable. Enough to quickly check some information but may not be enough if you need stable Internet for some remote work. There's no option to adjust water temperature in the shower. Water can get too hot for a child.

We will have a look at adjusting the temperature in the showers.
Hopefully we will see you again!

Liked: We had a lovely stay at this campsite. The surrounding area offers some beautiful walks within close distance. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and comfortable, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
Although some reviews mention issues with overcrowding, we didn't find this to be the case during our visit over the Bank Holiday weekend.
It's true that the Wi-Fi was quite poor, but that didn't bother us—we came to spend time actively outdoors, and the lack of connectivity actually helped us disconnect and relax.
Disliked: We were informed upon arrival that wood is not permitted for the fires. It was our fault we did not review this in more detail before the visit - simply it has never happened before but will be more attentive next time. Sadly this is the reason I would not consider coming back again. It was still quite chilly and rainy the night before and was not possible to sit enjoy outside post 9pm with little kids. The receptionist during check-in mentioned we can ask for hot water any time but when we later asked warden for some he refused and suggested we buy a new kettle from the site :(

From the manager: Thank you for your review Gintare. We are glad that you did enjoy your stay. You did however have some issues that would prevent you from returning, and as you broke our main rule regarding our fire regulations and open fires even after you were told they were not allowed, we would not take anymore bookings from you. Our customers safety is paramount at all times.
The "No open fires" rule is mentioned both on our website, PitchUp, your booking confirmation email and your handout given on arrival. You asked if you could have a campfire and you were explicitly told no. That rule is there for a reason, the main one being for our customers safety. You still had a camp fire.
You were not told by either of us that you could have hot water at any time as we do not have this facility, especially later in the evening when you asked and this is why you were given the opportunity to buy a kettle by our warden who thought that would be helpful.
We wish you well on your travels and all the best. The Oak View Team Ruth and Rob. 😊

From the manager: Thank you very much indeed Louise for your kind review. It was lovely to see you again and your son too. Handsome lad 😁
We are glad that you found that the facilities were up to standard, it is a bit of a challenge when we are that busy but we are very proud of the good reviews that we get for those. We hope that you did manage to get the top of your tent dry before you went and we are looking forward to seeing you again. The Oak View Team Ruth and Rob. 😊

From the manager: Thank you so much Iain. It was lovely to see you back again this weekend and what a lovely photo of the dog! They're such a help aren't they? 😂 🐶 🥰 🔨
We are glad that you found your pitch to be a good size and you were happy with the facilities. It was a good weekend, busiest of the year so far and we were full so it's good to know that our customers are enjoying their stay. We would love to see you both and the dog again. Liked: Great location and really easy check in process.
Facilities kept clean throughout the stay.
Really friendly helpful staff.
Nice small site.
Disliked: Showers were on a push button system and tended to be cold with no temperature adjustments.
Hairdryers required a 20p coin to operate.
Pitches were very close together and felt quite crowded with no real definition of pitch.
Advertised walk to the pub was not a suitable walk for with children as path was overgrown and very steep.
Quite noisy with overhead planes overnight which was unexpected.
Seasonal pitches needed more responsibility put on owners to maintain them as some of them were looking very shabby and grass was overgrown around them.

From the manager: Thank you for your review, James. We will take the good with the bad in order to learn and hopefully make the site better for our customers.
We are pleased that you found plenty to like and we do work very hard to try to keep the showers and toilets clean for you all when we are busy. We are pleased that you found us to be helpful and friendly.
To address the points that you disliked`;
The shower system does it's best to keep up when we are fully booked as we were this weekend. We did not have 1 pitch left. The boilers obviously have to reheat and when there is a constant stream of people using the showers, this does't always happen quickly enough and we apologise for that.
We have a constant supply of 20p coins in the reception should you wish to use the hairdryer, just come and ask.
We are sorry that you felt the pitches were too close together. Every busy weekend, Rob and myself go round and measure the pitches out to the legal requirements including firebreaks. The arrival of the campervan next to you was due to a customer coming in and insisting to be with a group at the last minute after not having told us and we apologise for that.
Could you please complain to Kent Highways about the overgrown pathway down to the pub and we do suggest that our customers research where we are before they book, we are at the top of a hill.
Unfortunately, we cannot do anything about the flightpaths from Gatwick.
The seasonal customer was asked to cut the grass around his awning during the week before the bank holiday weekend but was away.
We hope that you will come and stay with us again, perhaps when we are not so busy and we wish you well and happy travels. The Oak View Team, Ruth and Rob.
